Seaw view palace is the best place to stay in Kovalam! The staff is so nice, very friendly an helpful. You can ask for anything, they get it! The hotel manager Lal is very obliging, but not haunting at all. It's a very clean and tidy place, also. Rooms are in a very good condition. And the location is amazing - a wonderful view and the seaside and wonderful sea noise at night. Apart from that it's very quiet and peaceful. I really recommend this place. I love it, stayed there twice and will come back, definitly!
Nearby located restaurant 'Santana' is also brilliant. Very good food - especially the fisch - yummy.

I am having high expectations regarding accommodation facilities - was very pleasantly surprised about the hotel hospitable staff (accommodating requests, fluent English, kindness)! Hotel is very clean, cosy, bright, roomy and not colossal as such. Surrounding is quite, in spite all tourist facilities are at its doorsteps. Staff is able to advice about sightseeing attractions. Great place to chill out. We got what was promised to us, no unexpected bad 'surprises'. Good value for the money! Tai, EU

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Sea View Palace, Kovalam. The rooms are spacious, good furniture and furnishing, absolutely tidy, good airconditioning, very effective house keeping. The bathroom is modern, clean and new. The persons in charge - Rajesh and Jeevan go the extra mile to make the guests comfortable and providing all their needs. Santana - the restaurant serves good yummy food, again here Jeevan recommended the best sea food of the season. All in all a excellent place to stay while at Kovalam.

Very comfortable living just a few meters from the beautiful beach.
Staff was very helpful and nice.

Only minus was that linens and towels were old and stained (but clean) the first time we stayed there. When we returned after a week away we had perfectly new linen, so maybe they´ve upgraded them - or maybe we had bad luck the first time.

Overall a very good place to stay. we went there in the off season & we had a nice time. Moreover we were there during the weekdays, so the whole place was deserted, absolutely no crowd.. the service was very nice and the thalis served by the hotel restaurant was great. We took a 2 nights and 3 days package and the all meals were included. Food served is strictly vegetarian. It is too tempting to have food siting in the balcony,

My husband and I have stayed at Sea View Palace Hotel 5 times now and we intend to go back in November. It is by far, the nicest 2/3* hotel in Kovalam . The nonA/c rooms are basic but clean. The A/c is luxury . There are three main reasons why we keep going back there. 1 The hotel manager and his staff are always polite, helpful and trust-worthy . 2 The hotel faces the sea,. not only does that mean a beautiful view, it also means that the constant sea breezes keep the hotel far cooler than the hotels set back behind the sea front. The Mosquitos are also deterred by the sea breeze. 3 The menu at the hotel's beach-front restuarant is varied and good vaue for money.
I had read in Tripadvisor that building work had been taking place during a visitors stay here. This must have been when the new promanade was being built. This is now completed and provides a safe walkway along Light House Beach. I would definately recommend this hotel to a friend.

It's right on the beach, as are many other hotels in the area. The rooms are quite spacious and clean, especially those on the front side which gives a view of the sea, the beach and the lighthouse.
The hotel has a restaurant attached to it with various types of fish items on the menu.

Long walk from coach to Hotel but worth it! 2nd time to India first Goa and now the real India. At first found the Hotel very basic but the people, cleanliness and food made up for it. Lal very helpful and the 'famous' Santanna restaurant served great food. We never went expecting a 4star hotel so were not disappointed.
The 'girls' on the beach were a bit of a pain but you do get used to it.
Became very friendly with the locals and we were both unhappy to leave!

A short but very relaxing stay. Lal and the rest of the staff are always very attentive and friendly. This was our fifth or sixth visit and it won't be the last. We really would not think of staying anywhere else on the lighthouse beach

Stayed at Sea View Palace for 2 weeks at end of Jan. We had a room in the front new part of the hotel, it was clean, towels and sheets changed every time we left the key, normally every other day. Hot water wasn't always available, but if you've travelled to India before, that shouldn't shock you, plus it was so hot anyway luke warm shower was fine. Balcony looked directly out over the sea, great for early morning, sunset or night time. Balcony area cleaned every morning, with floors disinfected. Staff all fantastically helpful and friendly, laid back, but efficient. The restaurant is popular at night and fish is particularly good, many people who visit for long stays and know Kovalam use the restaurant as their regular haunt, it is right on Lighthouse beach, For value for money and connection to the real Kovalam, would recommend this hotel.

have stayed in lots of different hotels all over the world. Seaview is so noisy in the morning time which is not amazing. Overall the hotel is really basic and i didnt enjoy having to put in a special request to clean my room and have my towels changed.
The vibe is a bit doss house rather than friendly budget stay. i wouldnt go back im afraid, there are tonnes of nice places to stay in Kovalam.

The people who work there are incredibly friendly and welcoming to guests and people visiting the restaurant, amazing fruit muesli in the morning :_)

I was booked in to svp for 21 nights I had to move out limited hot water. Sometimes, no water woke up at 4am families living at the back hotel noisy. The beach was a building site. Couldn't swim, due to rip tide. Red flags, every 20 meters. Had to move out, the people and the food fantastic. Unfortunately cannot recommend. Check with agent.

we booked this hotel knowing it was going to be basic, for the first two weeks of our five week holiday to kerala. but on arrival the coach drops you at the fire station in Kovalam and you have a good hike to get to the hotel trying to follow your cases that seem to be going in all directions( the one we followed ended up at wrong hotel) lucky for us we followed that one. once at Sea View things just got worse the room was dirty with dirty damp bedding, dirty damp towels no proper lock on the doors, no fridge, no air con, no bedside cabinets, the wash basin was in the room (non to clean) and the final straw was the bathroom Filthy with broken seat. We had been told by our rep we would get breakfast, managment said No you can have it tommorow, on asking about safe deposit boxes was told you dont need them so we havent got any but if you want you can leave your bits with us and we will put them under the counter ( dont think my insurance would have covered that) We contacted our Rep from Thomas Cook who arranged for us to move but it cost us another £350 and it had to be cash.
