Don't know what happened to make Aajay give such a bad report but I stayed there for a month whilst looking for an apartment to rent long term. It's extremely clean, bright and the staff are great. Don't expect a fantastic breakfast as the hotel does cater more for Sri Lankans, but you can order basic things like omlettes etc. Great place at the price...

Excellent place to stay on business in Dhaka. We stayed as a group and the hotel was comfortable, clean, safe, and the service courteous and prompt. Room service would deliver morning tea within 5-10 minutes of the call, the breakfast was a good spread, as are interesting dinner buffets throughout the week. Free wi-fi throughout the hotel. Really nice hotel taxis that one can rent for a drop off anywhere in town (300 taka) or by the house (500 taka per hour) are a good service if you don't have office cars picking you up. Rooms are comfortable, but single rooms can be a bit small. I recommend getting a queen or king bed in the room, which gives you a bit more space. There is a really nice (non smoking) executive lounge in the hotel, as well as a conference room, that allows for business meetings too. All in all, a great place to stay when on work in Dhaka.

Having stayed at the Royal Park on numerous occasions over the past 5 years I find that the stardard of staff ,security and service are unequalled in the city.Ive stayed in most of the larger hotel chains in Dhaka and have no problem in saying I find the intimate experience in Royal Park fantastic.
It location is also good as it is close to the airport and business district of Banani. If you know the traffic in Dhaka you will appreciate this point as hours spent in the car can be frustrating and tiresome.
The restaurant has a great range of foods with a breakfast buffet and a lunch and dinner a la carte menu. They also have weekly buffet dinners where they showcase Sri Lankan and other menus.
There is no bar or alcohol available in the hotel but you can bring your own if required.
The staff are always a joy and remember your name from previous trips. It is always a good sign of a hotel when the same faces appear year after year. They enjoy their work and have great pride in their hotel.
As long as this hotel remains I will be staying there as it covers all my requirements and then some.

Being the first time in Dhaka and being worried to finding a hotel I asked my business college Tim Crowley for advice. He suggested due his excellent experience to reside at the Royal Park Hotel.
I am finding this hotel to be a pleasant surprised with wonderful service, friendliness, always helpful far in excess of the norm [first day a staff member literally taking me by the hand in this new environment]. I am speaking from experience due to my extensive business travel I promise you this is not what you would normally find.
I have no understanding for the report in June 2008 by Barcelona’s comments about circumstances as if they are facts. I personably can only guess that she or he is talking about another hotel as what the person writes could not be further from the truth.
Should you be in the area of Dhaka or planning to visit find out for yourself at the Royal park hotel. As I travel world wide please feel free to write to my email [email protected] or at [email protected]

stayed in this hotel early June for 3 nights. Its so damn expensive to stay in the top hotels in dhaka so decided to try this one out. Wasnt disappointed. Given the general cleanliness in Dhaka this place was above average . Initially was given a smallish room but on request they changed it to a slightly larger one. Used the gym its minimal but adequate. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. Its centrally located but in bylane so it was calm n peaceful. Probbaly one reason why i found many European guests around. At then end of 3 nights I believe will stay here in my next visit too as the price vs quality deal was good.

The service in the hotel was excellent - each of the staff was attentive and seemed to take very personal care of the traveller. Because the hotel is relatively small, there felt like there was a personal service (particularly in the restaurant, where the wait staff were there on many of the nights I stayed).

Location - hard to tell as I had most of my meetings in the area, and used the airport shuttle bus (which was fine).

Rooms- Spacious and clean, with a powerful shower. Two quite annoying things is that many of the TVs don't have clear reception (neither in my room, nor the gym) - this problem may get worse as there is a taller building being built next door. The airconditioning unit was directly above the bed with the "on" light, directly above the bed, which meant that the room was never completely dark at night. The internet worked all the time, though was probably not as fast as it is claimed.

Price - Meals were tasty, and the buffet had a great selection. There was a live piano player one night, which was a lovely touch. Prices were relatively high, but fine for a business traveller looking for convenience.

I had been to Dhaka for a short trip (3 days) and Royal Park provided me a home away from home. Located in a quite residential locality it provides are material comforts for a business traveler. The staff are EXCELLENT. It is refreshing to see them indulge and help you with every thing in a very polite and courteous manner. The food was excellent. Though the menu was limited, it was well thought out and provided for all types of cuisine. This place is highly recommended.

For a change, Royal Park is a rather a calm and peaceful business hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and well equipped with all the necessary paraphernalia which a regular business traveller would look for. The bathroom is fit with really good sanitaryware and all of them work perfectly well. The power situation in Dhaka is not a happy story, but RP manages to keep the gensets on to ensure uninterrupted power. Overall, a sweet business hotel !!

The Royal Park Residence in Dhaka, Bangladesh is located at Banani, one of the quieter and residential suburbs. The hotel is managed by Sri Lankan staff, primarily, who make it a point to indulge the guests with the famed sub-continental hospitality all through checking in as well as checking out. The hotel has a shuttle bus service to pick up guests from the airport and that is very efficiently followed by a welcome drink and a rather smooth checking in process.

The rooms themselves are well designed and comfortable. They have modern fittings and furnishings, especially the linen. A choice of pillows is also available for those who want their particular preferences. Among other facilities, the pool is quite clean and is reasonably private in terms of its location. The hotel also has a business centre wherein you can also borrow DVDs and books that previous guests have left behind.

The hotel serves a range of cuisines, to appease most international appetities and so a particularly refreshing aspect is the range of items presented in the dinner buffets. The breakfast fare is usual and once can choose from cereal, fruits as well as a range of local preparations. Overall, this hotel comes highly recommended. My only concern would be that currently activities from a nearby construction site are a bit of a nuisance.

Even though Dhaka is a cheap city compared to othe major cities of the World, accomodation is over priced in whole city. It seems like not more than 15-20 hotels that a westerner can stay in whole city and Royal Park is one of them. Royal Park is 5 story building which is in the center of Dhaka but can not ussually be found by any driver beacuse it is in a residencal street. The residers are usually Westeners, some consulates or diplomats etc. The hotel itself is clean, rooms are a little dated but clean, we have experienced some power outages and hot water issues but should not bother your trip much. Internet and wi-fi is not strong enough in whole building. Business centers are useful, the restaurant is pricy but tasteful with not too much choice. There is a pool but never seen to be used. If you were to spend whole your day at the hotel, it would be boring since it is a small boutique hotel. The rooms have lcd tv's with any int'l channels. There is a safe in the room, but room amenities are not satisfactory. The best of the best is the service, they do take care of every requirement, and they are tying their best to make you feel home. That is why I would reccomend this hotel to everyone.

This is a compact building on a side street, and gives the impression of being more of an upmarket guest house or boutique business hotel. However it is comfortable, welcoming and efficiently run. Rooms have free WiFi and a DVD player connected to the flat screen TV. The restaurant has a variety of themed buffet evenings throughout the week, but on days when there is no buffet the extensive a la carte menu is available. The small back yard is entirely filled by a swimming pool, and there is a business lounge, spa and gym. Even in dreadful Dhaka traffic it's about thirty minutes to/from the airport in the hotel shuttle bus.

This is an excellent small hotel in a quiet side road in Banani. Rooms are well-maintained and well up to Western four star standard, although the dirty great big A/C unit strapped to the ceiling right above the bed caused a little anxiety. Decent breakfasts and a reasonable restaurant at night. Scrupulously clean. Free wifi in the lobby. The main good thing about this hotel, however, is the service. The staff are unfailingly helpful and attentive, very chatty, and full of information about Dhaka, which made getting to the cricket stadium and around the city's sights a whole lot easier. The manager even came in from home in the middle of the night when my partner was unwell, arranged for a member of staff to go with her to the doctors the next day, and made a point of checking in with us every day to see how she was. Brilliant service.

Tucked away in a quiet locality in Dhaka is this little boutique residence . With 75 rooms , a small lobby , multi cuisine restaurant and even a Salon , This is the best value for money Hotel that I have stayed in at Dhaka. The rooms are spacious , the air conditioning works well and the service is excellent. This is THE only hotel that I know of who delivers your complimentary breakfast ( if part of the rate plan ) to your room and doesn't charge you for it. Whether it is a regular feature or an exception I dont know , I have had that every time I've been there.
Each room has a DVD player and the business centre has an interesting collection of DVDs that you can borrow.
The food selection is modest and is tasty . Dinner is interesting since they showcase cuisine from a region each day. To work off the food , they have a small fitness centre which is adequate to get a quick work out to keep the heart rate going.
If you are on a budget , and like a small hotel away from the hustle bustle , this is the place to be .

The Royal Park is an oasis of calm and comfort amidst a sea of hustle and bustle. At the top end of guest houses in the Gulshan Banani district the Royal Park provides all the amenities of a large business hotel but combines it with the more friendly atmosphere of a smaller establishment. Its staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are good, and the restaurant provides a good mixture of Western and Asian food. This is the most comfortable hotel I have stayed in in Dhaka.

This is from the point of view of a frequent traveler within the USA, so you need to take this into account. If you're used to staying at named hotels (Hilton, Marriott, etc), this will be somewhat of a disappointment. The rooms resemble that of what one could have expected in the late 1970s in a roadside motel, with the exception of the cleanliness factor, which for this hotel, is quite good. Furniture and accoutrement are old, but maintenance is good. Security is based on access to the building, rather than access to the rooms. Doors could easily be kicked in, however, 24 hour guards at the front door prevent outsiders from getting in. Restaurant is good, but not great. Buffet food is often dried-out. The same food is served up on different days with different labels. Staff service is excellent, and very polite. Don't let them call you a cab - you will be greatly overcharged.

It is comparatively small hotel situated in a residentioal which gives you comfort and homely feeling. You get all the facilities which business travellers need and it is comfortable.

Rooms are bit small but comfortable. It has a restaurance and the food is nice. The friendlyness of the staff is absolutly great and fantastic. They do everything to keep you comfortable and homely.

This situated in the city and near to the Air Port. They do simple things to keep the work green and help the nature which I like the most.

Room rates are bit high but it is worth for money.

Stayed in this hotel in Feb 09 and Jan 08 purely for business. This hotel strikes me as it is situated in a clusters of houses and is in the middle of no where, away from the main road. Generally the hotel is considered as 4 stars given that it has the necessary amenities for business and leisure travel.

The restaurant on the ground floor is decent with good service and reasonable food. The breakfast spread is passable though not great. Staff in the restaurant showed good initiative.

Rooms are decent with a fair share of TV channels and bed is comfortable enough (at least for me) but the bath room looks pathetic as during my recent stay the towels are torn but overall the bathroom is clean.

People come to Dhaka for business so this hotel certainly live up to its standard as a business hotel as internet is free and they offer free DVD movies from their library. However, some how I felt the security about this hotel isn't that great because the lock to the room look flimsy and easily breakable (at least it occurs to me like this) but I have no problem with its security. Staff are friendly and helpful and is always ready to go the extra step.

The close proximity to airport is extremely critical if you understand how traffic is like in congested Dhaka. While this hotel lacks the luxury of 5 stars hotel chain, it makes up in terms of its warm hospitality and service.

This hotel is the worst I have ever been. The lack of security is amazing and the managers in this hotel treats you as a liar. My phone was stolen from my room in the second day of my stay and managers did not believe me and were very rude. Few days later after this accident I found out that my room door was left open by cleaner who forgot to close the door! This was enough for me to change the hotel. And oh, also after laundry my shirt was broken... But complaints do not help as they prefer to ignore you.I am very upset of the treatment I got from this hotel. I would never ever recommend this hotel to anybody. Pls stay away from this hotel!!!
