During my trip around India I had a very pleasant stay in this nice hotel. The hotel was much better then I've estimated. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, although the interior could be modernized, but the staff did their very best. All the time they were very kindly and did their best to solve every problem I had about my further journey. I would say the service was at a five star level.
Also the food in both restaurants was really tasty and the staff was kind.
A further mentionable point about this house is the fees less computer which is offered to its guests.
If I come back to Durgapur I would stay again in this hotel!

I travel 30 days in a month. I travel whole wold specially India and China. Have stayed in all category Hotels. I love to interact with people.
It was my pleasure to know about the GM of sarovar portico Durgapur ie Shantanu Pal. He is a good and honest person. I have spoken with him in the Morning at Breakfast lounge.
I was shocked to see a General Manager wearing a Appron and Kitchen dress and working in the Banquet Hall whole night. What more a Company require if they get this type of Employees. I am sure he is having a very strong Team and his Team Builging is hats Off.
I am glad to meet with him at the Lounge. We shared lots of things and ultimately I came to know he is a very Good human being and work for the Company. If you ask any help he will never return you back.
I got a good help from him. My son was not well he helped me which I cannot forget.
All the very Best to Shantanu Pal. You will grow in life.

I have visited Durgapur many times and has stayed at your Hotel. But to be honest enough that you all has developed a lot in terms of Hoapitality and Professionalism.
The General Manager himself has taken my luggagge from the Lobby. Since the Hotel Lobby was totally crowded.
I really appreciate the Team work of Shantanu Ranjan pal the Hotel Manager of Peerless Hotel at Durgapur.
It was a wonderful stay for me for the Team members.
Wisjing you all the very Best and keep up this Tempo....

This place is the best place you can stay while in Durgapur. There are not many choices and this is the best hotel around.

The hotel is quiet, serene, friendly staff, and most importantly cheap for the kind of service offered. The hotel has a good room service, friendly staff, a neat bar and a restaurant, complimentary breakfast and a prompt laundry service. But the key takeaway of this place - the price. Rs. 2100 for a night stay in four star comfort.

Coming to the cons of the place, the AC is old age and it takes quite sometime to cool down the room specially during a hot summer in Durgapur, you might need a fan to accompany with :)

I would recommend this place to anybody travelling to Durgapur.

It is by far the best hotel in Durgapur. Moreover it is a standard hotle to stay in.If you are going to Durgapur don't go for the nearby hotles like City residency or Subham.Their tariff may be half this hotel's but they certainly don't have any standard and are also not very safe to stay at.

Fantastic hotel in city centre. Good view of the green city from top floor.
The buffet breakfast was quite nice, good room service also.

I particularly liked a small piece of chocholate placed at my bed with a message 'good night', that was nice.
There was no swimming pool though but good value for money.

Date? It was more like a year. I stayed in this hotel for almost 9 months starting May 2010 till Jan 2011. Eventually I started liking this hotel more than my home!

Throughout those 9 months I have always there during the weekdays for business purposes. This hotel isn't that grand and jazzy but it is extremely classy (for lack of a better word!). And when it comes to Durgapur, it is the best that there is. Also, it is the only 3 star in town.

I have stayed in over 10 hotels in last one year but haven't come across a more hospitable set of people. They go out of their way to make you feel special. One such instance - By end of the June 2010, I no longer gave instructions regarding what I wanted. I just sat at the dinner table and they would serve the right things at the right time.

Location of this hotel is also very convenient. Located in heart of the city, all major landmarks in Durgapur are less than 10 minutes away.

Talking about negatives - its gymnasium (or fitness center as they called it) was a sham. With only one creaky treadmill and one set of dumbbells it is perhaps meant more for advertisement than for use.

All in all I would it were the staff that made it a memorable experience. The property and the rooms as such are quite mediocre.

Hotel located in the heart of the city. Service of the staff is courteous and excellent. Spread in the restaurant is very good. Toilet is small and maintainenace need to imrpove. Gym is not maintained at all properly. Drivers are to be accomodate in the dormitory with required minimum facilties to enable them to take rest in the night.

The Peerless Hotel Durgapur is a class of its own. Despite being a budget hotel it offers delicacies which remind Star Hotels.
I start with the complimentary buffet breakfast as this is the one thing I liked most at this hotel. The buffet breakfast is really a versatile one with several items to choose from and some personalised items too. The food itself is also quite good, though I also found that the quality was slightly less good than the last time I visited. But it was still good.
The hotel will arrange you a car for sight seeing. One can go to places like Kalyaneswari temple in Asansol, the Damodar valley where Maithon is a very good picnic spot.
In Durgapur also one may visit the steel plant, the riverside areas, Ram Mandir etc. the city itself is a planned with less pollution than adjoining areas. There is Mall - City Centre and Inox, Big Bazar.
The hotel rooms are quite comfortable and spacious. There are freebies like fruits, cookies, coffee and tea, as well as toiletreis. There is also a pair of slippers provided in the room, which help if you have forgotten one.
I enjoyed my stay and would certainly put up with them in my next visit too.

For my work requires to travel a lot. And I went to Durgapur last March, and I stayed at Peerless Sarovar Portico, which in my opinion the best five star hotel Durgapur has to provide. The rooms were fantastic, the food was excellent. Talking about the rooms I want to say that I never had such comfortable sleep, and the best thing is that if you want to do a small conference in your room, then you have plenty of options for that also, like they have nice set of sofa in the rooms, and they are willing to provide you all the service you need, like internet, in-room fax system, mini bar etc...After staying there for 3 days, I am really satisfied, and I would like to recommend Peerless Sarovar Portico to everyone.

Peerless Sarovar Portico is located centrally at Steel City Durgapur . I had visited the hotel as part of a conference sponsored by our company. Our room was good with all basic facilities. Room service was prompt. They had provided us some mouth watering foods . Earlier I had visited their Kolkata property also . They are very special in terms of foods specially the fish items . We had enjoyed the foods at their multicuisine restaurant. Very good hotel in Durgapur.

The room was small with basic facilities. The menu in the restaurant was just enough , however it was expensive with respect to quality of food. The room service as well as house keeping was alright. The hotel is near a mall and has good parking facilities.

Moderate kind of hotel, well choice in place like Durgapur is not much. The rooms are specious but not very higenic. Not very well maintained. Staffs are good. Parking is easily available with in the complex with security guards. Food quality is also quite good and to the mark.

Durgapur is my birthplace and have lived here till 18. I used to have a very high expectation of service from Peerless but it turned out to be ordinary. Nothing to complain though about their service but they didnt go that extra mile to help you during your stay. I also organized a small family get together in one of their ball rooms as it was my parent's 25th anniversary, the food was decent and reasonably priced.

I stayed here for 2 days only because of the name "Peerless". I rooms were shabby and had old furniture. Although rooms were clean and neat, but the hotel authorities have not upgraded them to modern standards. The toilets are all clumsy looking. I did not want to unpack the first day. The rooms on the first floor are much better than any other floor, probably because of new furniture. Do not be fooled by the reception about the views from the window - there are simply no views.

The restaurant was very nice and served good vegetarian breakfast in the morning. The spread was also good. They would also have your breakfast packed if you have to leave early. The conference halls are too small and they offered us the lawns, but we did not take it since there are better places in the town elsewhere.

On the whole, poor value for money....

1st experience lasts long and you will make your first experience of this hotel at the reception itself before you enter into your room. Unproffessional and ill mannered staffs. Education matters and you will see people worth service boys who even can't speak proper english are roaming with savvy coats as managers. They have a different set of rules, they don't allow more than 2 guests to your rooms at a time, they don't allow outside food and they beleive in treating your guests as unwanted outsiders. I moved out of this property within one hour of my check in as i could not just breathe within their self made rules. Rooms are definitely old and property not maintained still you can manage if the staff is courteous but here it might become a nightmare for you.
