Hotel was great and modern, the room was spacious and was definitely a value for the money. Also the hotel restaurant has been newly redone and was without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the city, better even than the VITS restaurant and much cheaper. As soon as the hotel finishes its construction it will be one of the best places to stay in Aurangabad. Also great for western tourists, I found it up to my western standards.

Note- the staff are courteous and they did everything they could to help me.

Overall I would recommend this place to tourists, it had everything I needed and made my trip to Ajanta and Ellora great.

My husband suprised me on our first marriage anniversary. we stayed in the manor for a night and it was definitely a wonderful experience. The staff was very welcoming and as our anniversary gift gave us a VIP pass for a music concert. This made our day very special as we both love music and it had been quite a long time since we had been to one. After a wonderful night listening to great music of euphoria i was awed to see the beautiful room. though there was no lake or any other view from the room as it was on a Road Side the room itself had such pleasing and comforting decor and lighting that we instantly forgot all the tension of everyday life and could spend quality time together. the room had a beautifully done flower arrangement and a very romantic ambience. The dinner was good (amazing) we came back to the room.
It was a wonderful and a memorable night spent in manor.

The Manor hotel is probably one of the best business hotels in India. It's clean and the service is friendly and prompt. It gives you free unlimited in-room Internet. The room is especially comfortable and luxurious always looks new. It's in a quiet location that is conveniently accessible to your business contacts in the city. It's got only one restaurant, but that's okay as it doesn't make the place too crowded. Overall, it was a very pleasant one-night stay and I would go back there again.

There can't be a better trip than what I had with my family last week to Aurangabad, Shirdi and Nashik on a package (2N & 3D)provided by The Manor Hotel. Thanks to Mr. Oberoi for having it organized so beautifully and special thanks to the entire crew of Hotel Manor for the cordial reception and quality service. Everything was so well in place and organized, we didn't even feel we were strangers to the place.

We visited all the famous places in the cab provided by the hotel without any hassles or inhibitions, enjoyed the delicacies, shopped and what not. Right from getting down at the railway station to getting dropped at the railway station after 3 days- everything was taken care of minutely. The rooms were nice, the food was yummy and people were friendly. It was like being in a world where everything was just perfect.

All these experiences are etched in our memories to be cherished forever.

I would recommend Hotel Manor and its tour packages for people who are looking for best in quality service, royal treatment and above all value for money.

We were here for a marriage retreat from 6/13 to 6/16. Our room was booked through the military who paid for our stay and meals during this time. We also brought our 3 kids age 7, 9, and 11. We stayed in a suite in the suite tower and our room was great. Very large-01 flat screen tv's, large bathroom with shower only, refrigerator-the room comfortably slept 6 and my husband and I had our own seperate room.We had breakfast and lunch each day in the Restaurant .The food was good. Breakfast was a buffet that had an adequate amount of selections, The hotel is large and many of the areas are quite impressive. It was a great experience staying at the Manor Hotel. WE wre on a long trip for our Reliance Living store opening and the stay has happy memories of the whole team staying here, enjoying and unwinding after a hard day's work!

The hotel has a variety of rooms each in a different color palette providing a visuallyy appealing entry. ITs recently been refurbushed, so the reshness and the newness of the hotel will strike you.

The service was prompt, both Room service and HK were quick to attend calls and revert with orders. Infact the day could not start without the Gobi paratha that the hotel provides in the morning. Located centrally at Kranti chowk, and having an independent travel company, its a one stop shop for tourists and business travellers.

I have read a lot of reviews commenting on the fact that decor is outdated, but I would not let this put you off. The rooms are perfect for what you need and it’s important to remember that you are paying for the experience, not just the room. Also, the communal areas are very tastefully decorated and have a great ambiance.

All staff were courteous, helpful, friendly and accommodating. I also didn’t find the service overpowering like you tend to get in some Indian hotels. On several occasions the staff went above and beyond. For example providing a birthday cake for one of our party and showing us the routes to local attractions.

The hotel breakfast was excellent in terms of variety and flavour.

My only criticism is the hotel bars/restaurants are quite pricey in local terms,
This was definitely a highlight of our trip, my thanks to all the staff!

We stayed at this hotel in Jan 2010 during our visit to the famous Ajanta and Ellora caves. We had a very comfortable stay as the room was spacious and the amenities were good. Rooms were clean and kept that way. Cleanliness in general was of a high order. The staff was extremely courteous and eager to please. May be that is why we found many foreigners staying at the hotel. The food at the restaurant (see photos) was excellent and left us licking our fingers.

Actually we had taken a package tour through the hotel itself and all the arrangements including transport were very well planned and executed. The drivers they provided were helpful and polite and were ready with tips on local customs and places of interest. They have a travel desk to help with planning your further itinerary although we did not need that. However they helped us to confirm our return flight to Mumbai even though we had not booked through them. That was really nice of them.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced stay in a city like Aurangabad. Particularly providing package tours seems their forte.

The only black spot in an otherwise excellent holiday was the bed tea they provide in the morning. It comes to you cold as they bring the tea in open cups. Perhaps they should invest in a few thermos to serve tea in the morning. Even better would be if they can provide each room with a kettle and a few tea bags.

The other point is the street noise as the hotel is located in one of the more busy localities in the city. At times it is difficult to get to sleep. But I suppose that can not be helped.

However overall it has been 'value for money' for us.

I held my wedding guest stay here and could not have been happier with the hospitality, the staff made sure that you felt as if you were the only customer they had to deal with. And nothing was too much trouble for them they really did go that extra mile to make everything special.

Everyone who stayed had commented on how lovely everything was.
They have renewed their rooms with stylish modern interior that made our stay so special. I stayed in the Suite, and the bed was extremely comfortable, No problem with heat or hot water, I also had many other members of my family stay the night in the standard rooms and they were impressed with the standard, especially considering the price.

The breakfast in the morning was excellent which comes with the package and I cannot fault a single staff!
Congratulations to all the staff for raising the bar I have recommended them to all my friends and family and will definitely be back again.

Since this hotel was going under renovations, certain things were not available. We were told clearly about that. The hotel is located at a very prime place at Kranti Chowk. Enough parking space at the entrance was good. Reception and lobby was also good. Reception staff was also good. The room was quite good and the bathroom was very neat and clean. AC's were working well and TV was good. Room service was rather prompt and food was also okay. The buffet breakfast, which was with the package, was fine. But the only striking thing was when we were checking out..................
With security level being increased all over, hotels should atleast check out some photo identities, prior to check in. They did nothing over here. No one asked for any photo identity. But when printing the bill, it was mentioned that they have seen my driver's licence. This is not true !!!! Safety and security should be of primary concern, above any kind of services offered by the hotel ! This need to be taken care of.
Otherwise, things were okay, but the price was high.

I stayed at The Manor in August 2011. I made a booking on phone and i was offered 50 % discount on Royal Room which was excellent. Immediately booked the room. Its a good hotel with neat and clean rooms. The restaurant 'Balle Balle' located at ground floor is very nice with good food. The only negative point was 'Non availablity of hot water'. They said its available on request and they start a boiler and u will get water in 5mins. But those 5 mins never arrived and i dont think anyone has paitence to wait for 30-35 mins just for hot water to arrive as we were already getting late. Twice the waiter said Sir, Now hot water is coming but it dint. Rest all its a good hotel for the price you pay.

The hotel has great location - in case you are going to go to Ajanta Ellora Caves. Internally well built with spacious rooms - we stayed in executive double. The room was good but the bathroom could have been more cleaner(the tiles on the walls seem to need some cleaning). Hot water was made available and staff was friendly. We did not take the cab from the hotel as they quoted a very high price for a one day trip. We booked it through google. They have a great restaurant in the hotel - Balle Balle - must try if you like authentic punjabi food.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The reason why I chose this hotel is that it is located at Kranti Chowk on Adalat Road. The hotel is good, even the rooms are OK if you are a business traveller. They dont have covered parking for your car and they also dont have a person who can wash it for you. When I visited this time, there was fly-over work going in that square and there was a lot of dust on my car. I had to take it to a washing centre to get it cleaned. The hotel staff is courteous and helpful. Their room service is quick. The rates of the food & beverage are a bit on their higher side (1 tea=INR 35, for your ref.) as compared to any 3 star (self-proclaimed) hotel. One more thing is that (on both ocassions) my room door didnt have any bolting facility from inside i.e. the latch lever is the only way you can lock the door during the nights, something I didnt like much. Bathrooms are pretty neat for the price you pay. One can bargain for complimentary breakfast as its not included in the price (i got it).

When we came here we not only stayed at the hotel but also did their package tour of the surrounding area's historical and amazing holy caves.

The service at the hotel was not too bad, they did refund us for the day when we had no water, and the driver charging us fees which he shouldn't have. They did forget to mention however that the price of the package accommodation did not include entrance fees to the sites which was implied on the site back then.

Food was amazing, although we did get the lovely indian trade mark event which was fun for the journey back on the train.

Would overall recommend, its not a bad price to not have to worry about things and getting to see as much as possible in a short space of time.

After booking the hotel over phone, I was picked up at 0400 the next morning at the train station. With the early checkin, I got another few hours sleep which was welcome after the night in the train.
The hotel is about 5 minutes by car from the trainstation, too far to walk though. In the direct vicinity of the hotel, there is nothing to do, but autotaxis are avaible to bring you anywhere you want.
The hotel is a no frills place, functional, not more. The room was clean, the bed was ok and the beds nt too hard. Sleeping opposite housekeeping is not recommended as the phone never stops ringing.
I booked a car through the hotel for sightseeing in Ajanta and paid INR 1800 for the whole day. If you want a better deal, I suggest to go to the MTDC office, which is a 5 minute ride by autotaxi (the riksha).
While checking out, I was initially charged for 2 nights because of the early checking. When I explained that this was not mentioned at the reservation, the manager offered to charge 1,5 night, but eventually made a bill for 1 night as was initially agreed. The early checking was very welcome, but better agree in advance on what will be charged.
If you are only looking for a place to sleep, this hotel will do nicely. If you plan to stay several days in the cty, I would suggest a hotel closer to the trainstation where shops and restaurants are.

Spent 4 nights at The Manor Hotel in late Feb 2008. I was informed by the hotel that airport pickup was complimentary. However, our car didn't come on that night. A driver came and told us that he was a friend of the driver whom we were waiting. In the end he took us to the hotel.

On the next morning, at 4am, we've got a morning call, reminding us TO DO THE CHECKOUT THIS MORNING!!! We were shocked and told the guy we still have a few days to stay here. He then cut off the line. We then heard the phone from next room rang. The guy had mistakenly morning-called us!!!

This was not the end of the story - at 8am, someone of the hotel knocked our door!!! As we both were ladies and a bit worried so didn't open the door. We asked who's outside but nobody reply.

After washing we got down to the reception and told the guy these 2 incidents but we didn't got the answers. It seemed that he knew nothing.

We have booked a car from the hotel to Ajanta caves. On the way back to the hotel, the driver stopped at a shop and said "himroo, himroo" (a kind of weaving which is famous in Aurangabad). We were angry as he didn't respect us at all - he didn't ask us if we want to go shopping, nor visit himroo factory before. We both said NO and refused to get off the car. He was NOT happy. Nor were we!!!

We have also booked a car on the last day to do some more sight-seeing. We've paid the money on the night before, but next morning a staff asked us to advance a few hundreds for the fuel!!! Actually I think all the staffs here were not very attentive and they didn't communicate with each other!

We spent US$55 per night here (actually we didn't know why they still need to convert US$55 to Rupees as the rates from the website were in Rupees - in the end we paid more Rupees than the amount from the website - we didn't want to argue about this with the staff, he's just a junior frontline and we just wanted to leave asap). The room was spacious and quite clean. But surely the staffs need lots of improvments.

Room: during our 4 night stay our room "royal suite" has never been cleaned, beds have never been made and there were no fresh towels supplied. The bed made cracking noises when moving. Hot water for the showers is only available when requested 10 minutes prior to taking a shower and for 10 minutes only. The shower itself didn't work well.
Transportation: For Airport pick-up/return and transportation during our stay we have booked from the hotel a AC-car with driver. The car however was a rusty & dirty TATA Indico in very bad condition without AC; suspension and shock absorbers were used up and one passenger window could not be closed completely. The driver was friendly and at the end of our stay we gave him a fat tip but apparently he did not put the postcards we gave him in a mailbox ,as they have not yet arrived.
Restaurant: Breakfast and dinner were a part of our package. The breakfast was quite OK . The dinner turned out to be vegetarian only. This should have been specified at the time of making the booking. We must say the staff were friendly and polite and their service was good. No alcoholic drinks are served. If you want to drink a glass of wine or beer you need to buy your bottle at the liquor store and consume it in your room.

The rooms were "work in progress" and did not match the pictures on the website. moreover the room we were alotted was not even clean. when we brought this to the notice of the management, they changed us to a better room. room service was sluggish and inefficient. for example, when the room was cleaned, drinking water was not replenished. more such instances happened. staff friendliness was average. overall the hotel management gave the impression of being indifferent.

Overpriced, given the tariffs of other hotels in Aurangabad.

We viewed the details on the web and booked the room over the phone. The deal was taken up for the Royal room - the pictures were incorrect and when we checked in and went to the room found it a shock - very poor and very noisey, swithched rooms to the back of the hotel. The rooms are dated - we were going to stay for 3 days - cut the time to 2 instead. The bed was dirty - looked like sheets had not been cleaned since the last guest left , bins still had rubbish in them and the bathroom was poor and falling apart - well its called a wet room. The resturant for evening meal was the best - food and service was great - its the expection to the rule. The hotel appears to be going through an upgrade and when I expressed the experience to the General Manager - he gave a postive indication that things were being done to improve since his recruitment - he was one of the only people that knew what he was doing.
The breakfast was disgusting - better eat out if you can find something suitable close by.
The words clean/ hygienic and customer service need to be removed from any communications - the rooms smelt foul and sleeping was a nightmare.

We had selected this hotel after researching on internet. We were two couples and had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. We felt that the hotel is located at the centre of the city. Inspite of prior intimation that we are two couples, on the day of check-in we came to know that they have alloted us both the rooms having two single beds. This was the first surprise. Secondly, the room condition was far more different than what was shown in the pictures on their website. Initially the staff continue to expalin us that the rooms alloted are the only rooms available. When we strongly denied to accept these rooms, after half an hour, they alloted slightly better rooms. The service was highly unsatisfactory. If you call for any assistance, you need to remind them atleast once. They will provide only what you ask for. In one of the rooms, there was an additional person with us, but they did'not even bother to ask for extra bed or pillow. The extra towel, extra soap, etc are the things which you can not expect they will provide themeselves, although at the time of check-out they did not miss raising a full charges for that extra person. We did not paid the extra charges for the extra person, except for the extra breakfast, as no extra service was provided with respect to that extra person. The breakfast was ok, but the restaurant where one has to have their breakfast, was not at all clean and hygienic. The another shock was that when we tried roaming around the hotel, we came to know that a 10 time better rooms were available at almost 60% of the rate for which we had booked the Manor Hotel, Aurangabad. There is a huge scope for improvment from management's side as staff appeared to be polite and fine, except the slowest room service.

Room: Shabby. Fixtures falling off; ....TV table was almost ready to collapse. Bed / Linen - OK..clean;. TV remote had no batteries. (was replaced on request)

Toilet / bath: NOT Clean - the bathroom door was so dirty on the inside - was pathetic. Wash basin tap had a perpetual drip.

Restaurant: AWESOME! Very good food. Excellent service. Will visit again.

Receptions: mixed bag - some very polite & helpful - a couple of them looked pretty irritable. .....it just takes one rotten apple! Below average experience overall. No customer copy of payment receipt produced.

Location : Good.

I had made reservations over phone after reading reviews of the hotel, and had great expectations. But was really disappointed.
I do have to say positive things first - the front desk staff were extremely helpful and courteous, and the all the other staff were equally nice.
Service needs a lot to be desired - they have to improve a lot. So also the ambiance.
When we checked in, we were given rooms that were not cleaned up after the earlier occupants had checked out. Gross ! When we asked them for a different set of rooms, we ended going through one room after another to find none of them not cleaned up after the earlier occupant !! Finally we asked them to clean up a couple of rooms of our choice and waited about half-hour to get into the rooms. Even after that we found that towels were not replaced, and toiletries not provided - we had to ask. Even the next day, we found that towels and toiletries had not been replenished - again we had to ask.

The corridors had dirty walls, and a few rooms in the floor we were in had been converted to dumping rooms - with the doors kept open, you can imagine the disgust every time we entered and went out of our room! The elevator definitely needs a facelift.

The restaurant - absolutely a barebone with insufficient tables. Not sure of the quality of food - we just had breakfast there. Breakfast was food, even thought the spread was minimal. (We chose to have lunch / dinner outside in other restaurants in the city).

If you are looking for an expensive lodge, this may be ok. But if you are looking for a decent place to stay - not worth the price. Not that the place is expensive, but the place is not worth the price. Would not recommend for international travelers.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days. The hotel is quite decadent. The room was not very clean and all the forniture was very old. It is located quite far from the train station (where almost all the hotels are located). What it should be necessary it is a restoration. But they have a good restaurant and there were some people of the stuff very nice. Aurangabad is a good place to stay in order to visit the Allora and Ajanta caves. The town is interesting, there is not much to see around but I had a nice walk in the old (muslim) area of the town.

I stayed there around dec 20, 2008 and I agree with comments placed by reviewer stay dec. 24th. The restaurant sitting is dirty, either I could choose discount of some percent or complimentary breakfast (which has limit to choose including only one cup of tea) though we agreed on both. I had hotwater problem too but later my family got it. lower staff is more hospitable.
I would stay there again only at a much lower price and confirming terms first.

Free Airport pick up was what recommended this hotel to me - when I rang from Departure Lounge in Mumbai to arrange for complimentary pick up - I was informed that I had to pay Rs320 for it!!! Very ordinary room for the price - Swipe Card would constantly refuse to open my door and staff would have to be called to recharge the card - very very frustrating. Also had to repeatedly request for drinking water - very very slow service even when I went to Reception I would be kept waiting for the water. Wifi only in Reception area but very patchy. Noisy child (possibly of Proprietor/Manager) misbehaving in Reception area treating it like a playground - very unprofessional

Myself and my wife have been to a fair few hotels over the years. I can easily state that this one was the most memorable! The entrance foyer was dismal, the furniture were Oxfam rejects, the reception desk had panels hanging off it and the lift was scruffy.

It was only after we had been shown the third room that we accepted a place to stay for the two nights. We were informed this was the Royal Suite no less. Well we had seen two others and the difference was that this was definately cleaner, we could tell the original wall colour and the bed was on some kind of stage. The bathroom was adequate (though the mark on the wall was never cleaned), the water never got warmer than freezing and the one roll of lavatory paper just about lasted our stay No cleaner approached the room during our visit and the towels were never changed.

The reception staff seemed a little bit wary (perhaps previous guests had been more forthright than me!) and when I made enquiries of them about safe storage for valuables I was told that this was unnecessary since nothing ever got stolen. I could see how this could be since nothing was worth stealing in the hotel apart from my valuables and I kept a tight hold of them!

The breakfasts were excellent. A restaurant run by same management and outside the hotel provided some of the best food we had in 26 days in India.

To my certain knowledge the roof never leaked whilst we were there. Mind you it never rained whilst we were there.

I urge everyone to visit this hotel when Aurangabad (its worth the look) - just don't stay there!

We had booked this hotel through email. When we are comparing the prices, the GM of this hotel requested us not to compare this particular "3 STAR" hotel with others around. We took his word and booked. Even though we were offered a AC room for Rs.1200/- inclusive tax, which was appearing to be cheap. Surprise, Surprise when u arrive. The receiption manager is so rude, no words to describe it. We had to shift to 3 rooms to get adjust to an OK room. In the first room, ceiling was leaking. In the second room, the water problem in bathroom. In the last room, which we settled, the tap was broken. Which was never repaired during our entire stay of 48 hours.
We were offered AC rooms @ 800 at nearby locations, which we should have selected. The hotel is under renovation is common execuse. Only thing I liked is promptness in service.
Diner @ their restaurant Balle Balle is just too good. One of best restaurants in town.

I am trying to book package for 3 days from Manor. But they are insisting on 50% advance even though it is not peak time now.
I read the review at http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g297649-d651390-r59482991-The_Manor_Hotel-Aurangabad_Maharashtra.html
It is unprofessional because you do not follow your own policy. When you take money in advance then you should return the money for cancellation done in advance.
It is unethical because when you say to return in 2 days and not returned even after 4 months.
In my opinion I am not going to consider this Hotel at all.

Stayed in this hotel for two nites and my experience was horrible/miserable.

Initially I had booked a non-AC room. When I entered the room and checked the bathroom (it was so dirty that I couldn't stand for a minute) I asked them to change my room. They showed me two AC rooms which were a little better and perhaps a bit cleaner, but the room rate was also considerably more (from Rs 1200 for a non-AC to 1900 for an AC room). The first AC room I was shown didn't have electricity so finally they shifted me to another AC room.

I really didn't need an AC as weather was nice, but I decided to pay Rs 700 more for a cleaner room. The room was still smelly, plumbing leaked at various points in bathroom, the furniture was in a bad shape and was perhaps never taken care in years. Service was bad. Housekeeping folks didn't bother to restock the shampoo and soap and change towel for the second day stay. Hot water is available only at request (must be first hotel of its kind).

And get this...there was no contact numbers for reception and room service provided in the room. I had to go down and ask for it and they simply wrote it on a piece of paper (like a confidential number?).

Location of the hotel is good. ...close to main points like central bus stand and train station and the staff at the travel desk and hotel restaurant are helpful and polite. But those are the only good points about this hotel.

My conclusion and advice - avoid it if you can....

It is a horrible hotel at which I have ever stayed. I booked the hotel via internet and paid the hotels for 2 rooms and for 2 nights. My friends and I stayed there only the first night and quickly checked-out the next day after breakfast even though we hadn't found another hotel to stay. Everything was terribily dirty. It was really a nightmare for us to stay there and we could hardly sleep. I wish I could have taken some photos of the hotel to show other travellers how terrible it was.

We read the reviews of this hotel and seemed quite good and the website looked promising. Although even the rickshaw driver on the way to the hotel advised there was better places to stay, but we ignored it as we thought he was trying to take us somewhere he would get his commission - we should have really took up his advice.

We were advised we would get the best room as we booked over the phone arriving from Jalgoan and breakfast would be included. It was a bit more expensive than we had paid in other places but looked nice so though we would splash out.

However on arrival the place looks nothing like it promised, it is unfinished with electricals and steel cables hanging. The lobby toilets are truly disgusting. We were checked in and taken to what was meant to be the best room in the hotel however it was unfinished, written on the wall, old curtains - nothing like the images which flash up on the internet. We phoned down to the reception and we were shown 3 more rooms and we selected the best room possible however still not great.

Whilst dealing with query we had the gentleman receptionist burped in my face! Literally a few inches away from my face, I was nearly sick!

Dont use the travel agency which the hotel runs - it took them 2 days to book a single train, something we had previously done on the internet ourselve and took ten minutes! Think that there we too busy stoking each other to sort out our booking and after 4 hours of waiting we gave up and left it with to sort out, which took the two days.
We stupidly asked them to book us something else and they kept on quoting different commissions as they were blantly trying to rip off us a foreign tourist. Went from 0 to 10% then down to 5%......go figure...... obviously we declined and sorted it out ourselved.
Phone calls are especially expensive in this hotel - more so than in any hotel I have stayed in (again a bit of a con for the hotel to make money).

I cant comment on the breakfast we didnt have it, didnt want to take the risk - we also checked out of the hotel earlier - mean to stay for 2 nights but only stayed for one...

ALL I CAN SAY IS PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - YOU WILL REGRET IT....

I made a reservation at the Manor Hotel based on some of the reviews posted here. When I arrived, I found the hotel was nothing like these reviews. I even asked the general manager if there were two Manor Hotels in Aurangabad, because this place didn't match the descriptions at all. The carpet, furniture, bedding, and towels were very dirty. The doors on the rooms (I tried a few different rooms) did not lock securely. Three of the rooms I checked didn't have showers--just a spigot and a bucket.

The restaurant appeared to be closed, but they opened back up when I asked if I could get dinner. I ordered something, and after waiting 15-20 minutes was told they couldn't prepare what I ordered. All the time I was waiting, I was stared at and talked about . I felt as if I were causing a huge inconvience.

Although the manager, Mr. Oberoi, tried to make things right, this place is not good. The photos on their web site are of rooms that have been fixed up just for the photographs. In real life, they are bare, uncomfortable, and dirty. I feel I was duped into making a reservation at this hotel by the innacurate reviews.

We booked via the hotel web site and were met, as arranged, at the train station by a nice driver. The same guy drove us the following days to Ajanta & Ellora. This is were the positive points ended.
The place is definetively not clean; during our 3 day stay we never managed to have a hot shower (despite attempts to supply us); the restaurant is positively disgustingly dirty (we resorted to have breakfast delivered to the room); the staff, including management, have no idea of the fares advertised on their own web site and asked me to produce a copy of the confirmation email to prove the agreed rate; the place is noisy!
We would have been prepared to put up with this level of room&service for a considerably lower price. We would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

we stayed in The Manor Hotel mid-January 2008 and moved to another hotel after the 2nd night (we should have left earlier).
the hotel is currently undergoing a massive construction - everything is dirty and dusty. I must say, that the hotel rooms were clean but very very basic. the beds were about the hardest we found in India. the most annoying thing about this place was the incredible noise level at night and in the early morning hours. the staff is constantly banging doors and shouting at each other. they don't seem to know how to communicate in another way. In addition to that, the reception staff constantly penetrated us to book a tour to ajanta and ellora with them. they called us at 10 pm at night and asked us first thing in the morning. my mum didn't feel well at all so we decided to be consequent and leave this mess. we then checked in the wonderful Ambassador Hotel which made us forget The Manor Hotel very quickly.
