I have stayed at many budget hotels in Kolkata, I would rate this as the best. Staff are polite and friendly. Rooms are spacious. The WiFi connection was good. Very clean indoor tempreture controlled pool.

I stayed here for a week and would definitely recommend it. As everyone has said previously, there are some very nice things about this hotel. My favourite bits were the friendliness and responsiveness of staff, quality of fittings, cleanliness of rooms. The bed was amazing & I slept very, very well.

I have used landmark hotel for stay to our guest coming from Bangalore and mumbai, they were doctors attending CSI in Kolkata. The hotel is good and was proximate to the Science City and MilanMela ground. Rooms had good ammenities and our guest were happy for teh same. Would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is somewhat far from the city but it is having all the facilities to be categorised as good hotel.
As the staffs are too cooperative as they tool good care and even helped in taking a trip of the city.
I havenot find anything bad with this hotel as the cleanliness, food, ambience every thing is good.
This hotel is recommended for Business, family stay.

It is not very expensive but a good utility Hotel. It is not far from the Airport and hence saves a lot of time commuting to and fro Airport.
It is very well maintained and service is excellent.Food also is reasonably good.
A nice place to stay while in the city

I was in Kolkata with my father for a wedding and our host had booked this hotel for us.
I must say that I was quite worried because I was coming from a terrible experience in a hotel in Delhi, but Landmark hotel was a totally different planet.
Clean and very spacious room with a nice view, clean communal spaces (ie dining room) and very very nice staff. Receptionists always smiling and rest of the staff always attentive to our needs. For the wedding I wore a Sari and had no clue at all how to wrap it around my body, so room maid helped me out with it.
There was also a computer connected to the internet in the corridor just outside my room which was at total guests' disposal for free.

If you want to have a meeting in kolkota and do not want to risk yourself in city traffic then the hotel Land mark is the right choice. It is on bye-pass road and the problem is that you have to have breakfast and dinner in hotel itself as nothing much is available in near vicinity.

Good and clean environment, located not far from city centre. Its okay and rooms are moderately priced making it ideal for a budget traveller. Luxury is not what one would get here but definitely comfort.

Basic amenities like room service, hot & cold water, TV with cable connection are there in rooms.

Chinatown is nearby where you can get good chinese food and wine as well. Its also close to some tourist places like Science City and the City Centre.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport. We were shocked to find only a Chinese restaurant. Anything else had to be ordered through room service. The food was awful and all of us ended up having indigestion. Maintenance is poor (my door would not lock). All the fittings appeared to be Chinese and were of poor quality. There was nothing poor about the tariff though. Maybe the hotel is satisfied catering to customers of a particular nationality but is that the purpose of a hotel?

I am a frequent traveler as part of my business commitments. I had the opportunity to stay in hotel Landmark , near science city . The hotel has a Chinese restaurant , though the room service is preferable. Complimentary breakfast service is good .Landmark provides the guests with free Internet facility . In the name of swimming pool it has a small tiny still water pond , hence not recommended for swimming. The bathroom is so tiny that u can hardly move around even for taking a proper bath. It was close to my client’s office , otherwise I would have preferred to stay elsewhere .

we stayed here for one night as we had to catch flight next day. It was not so good experience. However, not so bad though. I would call it a good hotel if they charge me less for the same stay. Not value for money.

Rooms are nice and clean. It has a gym & an indoor pool. The toilets could be maintained a bit better. But but but food & service is terrible. we not only got cold tasteless food but we also found insects & hair etc etc in it. Also the service staff & their food & beverage manager has no idea about service & guest satisfaction.
It gives you value for money till the time you don't eat there.

I'm an American and I've stayed at several hotels in Calcutta. This one ranks in the middle. The rooms are moderate. Not cheap like some of the places on Sudder Street. But not plush like the 5-star hotels. The double bed rooms are much roomier than the single bed rooms.

The staff was very friendly from the reception, to the restaurant, to housekeeping. The restaurant had good food for breakfast and dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. The dinner was very reasonably priced. I'd eat here again. The breakfast buffet was good and ample and was included in the room charge. They weren't always ready on time, though. So early risers might be a tad disappointed.

Although surprised to find they had an indoor pool and gym. the pool seemed nice. I didn't use it. The gym was a small machine, 2 treadmills, and a sit up bench. Not much, but better than absolutely nothing.

I have only three complaints. One, they've got giant lights on the outside of the building that shine onto the building to light it up. It makes the hotel look nice from the outside. But from the inside you have lights glaring into the windows. That was annoying.

The 2nd complaint was with housekeeping. My bed sheets weren't freshly washed when I checked into the room. They still smelled like the last person who stayed there. The towels weren't very good quality and a bit scratchy. Also, one day, they forget to replace the towels and I didn't have a towel for my shower.

The 3rd complaint is that one day, hot water wasn't available.

The final complaint is that there was a small device in the room that emitted a "fragrance" every 20 minutes. It made a loud sound and squirted cologne into the air. I wish there was a way to turn it off. It was an overpowering smell.

For the price, it's not a bad hotel for Calcutta. Unfortunately, there is a lack of hotels in the mid price range that meet standards of hotel in the same price range in America. To get American quality standards, expect to pay over $100 a night.

We stayed in the Landmark as it seemed to be one of the hotels closer to the airport. It took about twenty minutes out of rush hour. Our double room was huge with twin beds, reasonably comfortable. The air conditioning system is very loud so we couldn't have it on at night and bizaarely the room had an all singing all dancing massage chair. A quirky bonus but one I could have lived without. The worst thing was the thousands of tiny flies. I can't remember if they were there before I opened the window to take photo's of the highway at night. I recommend not opening the window just in case as they got everywhere! The restaurant food and service were both very good as was the service on the roof top bar. The hotel served a purpose for us but I wouldn't have wanted to stay there much longer. Recommended for convenience.

We booked Landmark for 3 days during our wedding for all the outstation guests to stay in Dec 2008. We feel that we got a good value for the money we put in.

The Hotel is relatively new and has surprisingly large & comfortable rooms. Kolkata has a dearth of hotels which are reasonable yet live-able. Landmark broke this notion for me. The rooms were large & spacious with quite some space to move about. Some of the suites even had massage chairs which gave one a nice opportunity to relax midst of all the wedding stress.

The food was decent with the buffet they laid out for us. The only hiccup was the level of service. The cleaning & servicing staff were an irritant. They at times would break the otherwise peaceful ambience off the hotel.

Being located on the EM Bypass, it saves one from traffic & the din of the main city. Transport (taxis) though are readily available through out the day.

Stayed there for about one week in October 2008 for Durga Puja. Late night check in, the staff was quick and we have been taken to our rooms in short time. The rooms were nice and clean. AC working, big TV, electric kettle available and fridge filled with bottles of boiled water for free and bottled mineral water to purchase.
Sanitary facilities western style
Breakfast buffet with Western and Indian dishes was good. One morning when I was all alone in the breakfast room, three waiters rushed several times to kitchen to bring me delicious Indian breakfast items. With so many guests obviously scared of Indian food they very happy I liked it. Dinner and lunch also were good and tasty (spending one month in India I never had problems with food or water).
Free web access is given. On each floor a PC is placed in a quite corner of a corridor.
Staff was helpful, friendly and fast, always ready to give advice. When we needed a taxi, the watchman at the gate took care the driver understood where to take us and noted the licence number.
Transport connection is good, mall and cultural center close at hand. Rates are reasonable for a Kolkata

It's about a 40 minute (in traffic) drive from the airport. Definitely in a sketchy part of town but close (15 minute rickshaw ride) to a mall (if that is your thing).
Very high building overlooking a river where in the morning the sound of the villagers beating their laundry on the rocks is the banging that you'll hear. The beds are rock solid hard and very uncomfortable. Breakfast is buffet style and basic but not the cleanest (dishes and linens were dirty).
There was free internet access on every floor via a computer located in a wing on each floor. However, access was incredibly slow.
When the weather is hot the stench of garbage from the river is pretty bad. Overall the room was clean and the staff helpful.

Day 1: Checked in around 9PM, found that no english channels on tv; was told that this was all the service provided....complained, was moved to another room about 10Pm; TV works but internet was not working; complained... gave up as it was late... ordered room service, biriyani for dinner... must say it was the foulest tasting biriyani i've had; the rice was sweet and overcooked, the chicken was all bones and very dry...
Day 2: returned from work about 10 PM, horray internet working intermettently... ordered room service... told them of my experience with the biriyani and ordered sechwan chicken fried rice... got a dish with rice soaked in soy sauce and sugar (dark brown/black) lots of chopped green chillies for spice (my fault, i asked for spicy) not a shread of chicken found in the whole dish... the gulab jamuns were good.
Checkout 430 AM... the credit card swipe terminal doesnt work... i have to take one of the front desk guys on my taxi on the way to the airport to an atm withdraw cash and settle the bill on the road.... an unforgettable first trip to kolkata

Stayed for a night, not even for whole night. I was going to Dhaka from Kolkata and I was there from 7.00PM to 3.00AM (early morning).
These 8 hours are enough for me to comment on this hotel. Rooms are unorganized, food quality & quantity both are bad. Bathrooms are unhygenic with very old fittings.
One can think to stay for such small period without the above mentioned facilities, but bad behaviour of staff can never be tolerated which is bad mannered & unfriendly.
Hotel claims that this is Govt approved/licensed 3 star hotel but surprisingly, they dont have license to accept the USD officially and they deduct Rs 4/- per USD? which is cheating with the guests.
Request/Suggestion- please never ever stay in this hotel.

The staff and manager Lalit are most discorteous. They are ready to answer back rather than help the guest. The rooms and restrooms are small for price. The restaurant staff are irate and always in a hurry to clear the guest.

Stayed in this hotel for good 4 days..but was not at all satisfied.....

Food :
They offer complimentary buffet breakfast and dinner which is of no use....the breakfast has very limited options to choose from..and quality of food is also not so good..no proper cleanliness is maintained..

Rooms :

The bathrooms are very small..at the bath area..the person cant even turn around..its so small..hot water takes ages to come..a/c stops working sometimes..and one more..they also claim to offer free internet..which never worked for me or to my other colleagues..and the explanation they gave was behind my understanding..

Staff : they are good..
