I had stayed there and really enjoyed my stay. This is the best hospitality i had enjoyed. The hotel is very close to the Market and metro station. The pick-up service was efficient we had requested for as we landing very late and first to India. The rooms was clean and comfortable. Reception and Room service is very friendly and prompt. The travel assistance was excellent and the best rates was offered. Hotel staffs make us enjoy our trip to India. The most convenient and comfortable. We really enjoyed the metro a lot it is very economic and comfortable. I wish them all very best.

I stayed at Suncity twice in a short span of 2 months, I enjoyed my stay. the entire stay was very helpful, that is why i am writting this for them. I travel a lot but never write about any hotel. I was on business trip skipped of my business card, hotel receeption staff assist me and it was in a day i got my new cards printed that too cheaper than what i use to pay. the hotel tariff was a good deal with breakfast and taxes. Rooms are clean and with comfortable beds. I find it secured as the reception needs an id for the visitors as well, some times it seems to be a joke but i realised it is good for us.

I recommed this hotel to every traveller to stay with Suncity you will enjoy your stay. the bengali guy at Reception is very soft spoken and well behaved. always smiling and helpful.

Best of luck

Excellent Staff, I had to extend my stay due to illness in the family and the hotel was very accomodating, this hotel took care in a way no 5 star hotel would have been able too, everyone, from the person that checked us in, the person that cleaned the rooms, to the person that cooked the meals were all very accomodating, Kudos to the staff of the hotel, they made me treat like I was a family member.

We visited Delhi during annual vacation of December 2010, before visiting Manali. We stayed in Hotel Suncity for 2 nights and 3 days initially and later (after visiting Manali) stayed for another night and a day.
It was really great stay and much more than the expectation (considering the price). Compared to many other cities and 4/ 5 star hotels this was really something great. It is 100% value for money. They practically proved 'Atithi Devo Bhava'! Service and room quality are excellent. There are two kinds of rooms. Higher priced one is much better and of even better quality. Spacious room and quality equipments in bathroom, LCD TV, room service, good food, ... we enjoyed each and every thing there.

We strongly recommend Hotel Suncity!

Sun City Hotel
Sun City Hotel one of the best hotels with very hospitable employees and staff. The Front Office Staff such as Mr. Kunal Sing and his manager Mr. Amit Malik who seems to be like an expert on Concierge is very friendly person that you can always rely on.
Most of the time, takes care of the hotel guests by himself, and answer all their related questions and concerns. He makes sure the guests are comfortable and have great memories from their hotel. I recommend this hotel highly especially for those who are completely stranger. Mr. Malik a man of principle who strongly believes in business ethics is your key person to contact whenever you feel to stay in New Delhi, India. He will treat you like a family, he listens to every guest issue personally and takes a proper action to resolve guest related issues immediately.
Stay in Sun City Hotel and experience the hospitality that will amaze you. They are very nice persons. Not to forget the room service, restaurant staff, housekeeping and bellman, they just good. And Mr. Sing Gandhi the owner of the Sun City Chain Hotels must be proud of his staff in Karol Bagh area Hotel.

It was my first hotel I stayed when I arrived in the middle of the night in Delhi. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was very spacious. I just needed a single bed room but they offered me a twin bed one. The room was clean and so as the washroom. There was not toothbrush provided which I didn't know so I could only keep on chewing gum. The walls of the room was thin, I could hear breathing sound next door who was in sleep. The hotel was located in a relatively rough area so when I was standing in front of the hotel entrance there were some women with kids asking for money. Overall this was a very good hotel for travellers with low budget. I would like to recommend this hotel to others.

I usually stay in much more expensive hotels, but I was temporarily travelling with a "budgeter".It was all very "last minute" and so I fugured that one night would be fine,I was tired.I ended up staying for my whole trip! For what you pay,you get alot. And in Delhi you can pay alot and not get much. The rooms are spotless and impeccably clean, for Delhi that is amazing! The staff are more than friendly, they will treat you like family. They found great late late night food for me,arranged drivers without difficulties,I needed boxes for packing goods-all delivered with a smile. You also recieve a free breakfast;cereal, papaya, eggs, omlettes, tea, coffee, toast. Amazing! It's not the Ritz, but if you want a clean room, nice bed with REAL sheets, great staff (that you can trust -so you're not stashing your laptop under some desk),and breakfast to boot this is your place. You can pay way more and not get these fundamentals, believe me.And there's dirt cheap WIFI available for the rooms.Ask for Shambhu,he is a true gem to his industry and the hotel.

Specially the owner Mr.Singh is a wonderfull person and gave us a worm welome with a cold drink. The rooms are very specious and specially the location is very good heart of the city. If you want to go to any part of New Delhi it will only take 30min to reach. The Metro is only 5min walkin from the hotel.
The staff is really very careing and are always helpfull.
Finally i woul recomend strongly to all the members of Trip Advisor when ever you go to Delhi please try this property and you will know the diffrence.

This hotel's rooms are very basic, nothing more. But service at the front desk is top notch and food cooked fresh (takes 15, 20 minutes from the time you order) and is delicious. You feel really good staying here... If/when I go back to New Delhi, I would like to stay in this hotel again.
That's after staying in Taj last time, Taj is posh but most of the stuff suggested there you don't use. So going with just friends/relatives/loved one Suncity is better :)
Plus Suncity is conveniently located 10 minutes by tuk tuk from Laxmi Temple!

Hi,
When I first view the pictures of the rooms of Sun city and the price I thought that it was certainly a scam: the rooms looked to nice regarding the price offered. (I found it too good to be true). So I made my booking but I had also contacted another hotel as a backup plan (plan B). On Friday 26th, March 2010, I arrived at the hotel, everything was exactly like the same as in the internet: quite, clean and spacious. Being Malaysian myself, I a maniac about Hygiene, this place was totally complying with my standard of living.
The hotel is located in the center of shopping Area. (Karol Bagh)
The staff was very friendly and helpful; they gave me great tips for shopping, local restaurant and sightseeing around the area. I will definitively recommend it to anyone who is travelling to Dehli.

The hotel was very clean, quiet and especially the front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was included in the tariff, I would surely recommend this hotel to everyone as I am gonna patronize this hotel for quite some time now.

We were alloted a family room number 105, this room has three beds with good interirors.

Hotel has spacious accomodation and is best for business and leisure trips.
In addition hotel holds proximity to Delhi 's shopping destination - Karol Bagh and since it is located at central Delhi it helps visitors with convinience of travel.

A roof top restaurant serves good delicacies, specially of chinese and indian food.
Breakfast is served as fresh, as morning with complete hospitality

Truely, a best hote, at right place with right cost.

As a solo female traveller I was looking for somewhere safe, clean, and affordable for my first trip to Delhi and Suncity was a good choice. I arranged airport pickup by email and although they were late to pick me up it all worked out fine. Checking in was easy and they were happy to meet my needs by letting me switch to a different room when requested. The rooms are small and basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel is located near markets, travel agencies, and an internet cafe.

The service was so fast and efficient. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room service was good as was the included breakfast buffet. The staff were even nice enough to let my friend and I have a late check out (2pm) when we were not feeling well. I would reccomend airport pickup because it can be hard to find, however for other taxi rides find your own driver outside the hotel that will charge half the price the hotel does.

Overall very good value for the money and I am glad I stayed there.

Hi! I am piya . I am working as a PRO in Swami vivekanand group of institutions in Indore. Last month I and my two friends happened to visit Delhi for some official work and as I was suggested Hotel Suncity by my cousins we straight away moved from the Airport to the Hotel . Three of us decided to share the room and the management made the arrangement for the same . we statyed for three days and two night. Our stay was so cozy that we didn't felt that we are staying in a hotel . Services were wonderful . The whole staff was very caring . The restaurant is outstanding with a variety of cuisine and is very neat and clean. Eventually during our stay my friend got ill in night . As we were new to delhi we had no whereabouts about the doctors. We asked the manager to call some doctor . He arranged the doctor in a hour and also arranged for the medicines. The hotel management arranged for some less spicy food for my friend. The owner i.e Mr. Ghandhi himself visited our room and ask about her well being. In short the owner as well as his staff were too modest and humble. I will highly recommend the hotel for business travels as well as for leisure stay . The stay at hotel is very cozy and comfortable and the location of the hotel is very nice and accessible from any part of delhi. The infra structure of the hotel and the rooms is marvellous.

We have stayed at the Suncity at least a dozen times now, and have sent friends there, who have been equally pleased with the hotel. It is always our choice for a place to stay when we're in Delhi. The rooms are meticulously clean, the beds comfortable, and there is ample hot water for real showers -- all those "comfort zone" items that mean so much. Most of all, the staff is friendly and helpful; there is always a smiling greeting awaiting us, and assistance with travel questions, sightseeing, etc. There's a good internet connection in the lobby. And the price is very reasonable for a Delhi hotel with so many advantages. The only downside is the location -- it's a bit out of the way, and there are no really good restaurants in the near vicinity. But the doorman will helpfully find a tuktuk to whisk you to Connaught Circle, where restaurants abound.

Stayed here for 2 nights. It was a bit difficult to find, but got found it after asking around.

Though the check-in was at 12pm, we arrived early by 8am, and the manager was able to get us a room, after the previous occupants checked out early. Our room was small - just enough for a couple. Bathroom was large and clean. Only problem was that there was no window curtain, but it was a one-way glass (Wife felt a bit uneasy taking batch at night ).
Complimentary breakfast was good. Manager and staff were courteous and helpful.

Metro was a few minutes walk and that was one of my main requirements.

We just wanted a comfortable budget place where we could crash at the end of the day, and this place suited our needs.

Would stay here again.

We landed in delhi at night (Between 8 to 9 pm)and we went to this hotel after reading positive review from this site and we found the same. The hotel manager Mr. Amit we welcomed us in a very warm way and as we got a room the room service boy(kumar) gave us an extra heater and an extra set of blankets as quick as we ask (great room service). Mr shanbhu at reception he arranged a taxi for our next day agra visit. These all happned at same night and so quickly. Next day driver was at hotel at 6 or before and Mr. shanbhu did confirmed with driver for our comfortability and he should not take more money from us except fillup the gas. This trip was memorable. The driver was also very nice. Once we back at hotel by 1.30 night, again Mr. Shanbhu arranged a taxi for us for delhi local sightseeing. that trip was also good. (but driver was in very hurry as he was very concern about his 8 hour job, not ready to stay longer even if we were ready to pay extra, So we release him before time and we spent time shopping at Karolbagh).
As far as hotel concern room was clean, washroom and towels were clean, room service was very nice, all staff was very good.

Our entire taxi booking upto Manali and back was done through Suncity and it saved a lot of botheration for us!

Rooms are comfortable, cosy and clean, and ideal for an overnite stay, where the main condideration is just to park your luggage and move around the city, especially since it is a few minutes away from the Karol bagh Metro Station.

On Reaching Delhi, we met Suncity hotel's representative and our Stay there was very comfortable. the Reception staff have such great hospitality mannerism that makes you feel good and relaxed.
Food was good and Room were comfortable and sanitised. Minibar was available in room that had some softdrinks and water bottle.

Only the Dining hall is small and handwash is not available in dining hall. it is available only at the kitchen room and that too a small tap. this is very small ignorable issue when looked at all other stuff with this hotel.

it is the best budget hotel i have visited and this hotel was my choice when I missed flight and had to stay back there.

we stayed here twice within a short period while travelling through Delhi.
The hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood of Karol Bagh about 5 minutes walk from the metro station - so easy to get to from the main railway stations. the reception and welcome was good on both occassions and we were given the same room on both occassions - 101 - which is at the front of the building and has a window over-looking the road. i was concerned it would be noisy, but it wasn't at all.
the room and attached shower/toilet was generally clean and so were the linens.
the first time we stayed, it was pouring with rain so we headed for the restaurant at the top of the building. we were the only people there, it was dead, but we were hungry and no idea where else to go. We suspected the food was cooked elsewhere and brought in as it was still wrapped in foil! my veg noodles were very chilli hot but my partner enjoyed his mutton curry enormously.
breakfast is in the same place - they have muesli and cornflakes, fresh fruit but no cold milk, there was yoghurt on one day and not the next. the service was a bit hap-hazard but friendly enough.
on our subsequent visit we ate out - there are plenty of options very close by.
overall, its an ok hotel in a good location, but the restaurant lets it down.

karol bagh, where suncity hotel is situated, is a busy and interesting shopping area, with small restaurants everywhere. the hotel is a 5 to 10-minute walk to the metro station and the main shopping street.
the area is busy, noisy and full of life - i particularly liked the small hindu temple on the corner outside the hotel, with its busy priest saying prayers for people all day. there's a chemist nearby. the place is dusty, full of horns, and likely as not there'll be a wedding going on in the neighbourhood (you'll probably be invited if you stand and look).
inside the hotel everything is quieter, cleaner and more restful. if you have a room under the kitchen and rooftop dining, you'll have to get used to banging through the night, but the manager, Mr Amit, tells me he has plans this year to build a false ceiling below the restaurant to cut out the noise.
the two front counter staff, gunnar and vikash, were both extremely helpful and solicitous about our well-being. probably too much.
the beds were good. bathrooms were good. the single rooms are a bit short on space - the family room to which were were moved by mr amit was excellent.
just remember - this is in a big, busy indian city. it is not a maharaja's palace in a suburb-sized compound. don't let noise hassle you. be part of it.

I stayed in this hotel on my way to Chandigarh. This hotel offers comfortable stay for budget travellers in the convinient location of city heart- Karol Bagh. I was impressed with the quality of service hotel staff offered and in all would recommend this hotel for travellers looking for convinient access to delhi's tourist attraction along with the value for money preposition.

We stayed there few weeks ago and was a very good experience, because we needed a place to recover energy after our Rajastan trip. The service was superb, they helped us in every thing we asked. Only two bad thing: first, the noise generated by the employees, is not so much, it can awake you; second, our room was a little dark with a window looking a wall.

First off, Airport pick-up, pick up was there on time and we were greeted with a smile. The drive to SUNCITY was great, no traffic jams and a very informative and knowledgeable driver.
No sooner had we arrived we were greeted by the hotel staff as if we had just returned from a vacation. Our luggage was swiftly and carefully whisked away where we would later find it neatly installed into our room. Prior to our arrival all communication had been with the manager Desire, punctual and informative, the way it should be. The Manager was there to meet us when we arrived which I thought was a nice touch, it was Desire's day off.

My first impressions of the place were great, Our room was everything we expected. Once again everything spotless and finished beyond most guests expectations of a hotel room.

My partner and I stayed at the Suncity for 3 days. We left the hotel in the morning for a days excursion and upon return the same welcome.

I could ramble on forever but my suggestion is that you just go check out Villa Zest for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Good location if you consider you are very close to Karol Bagh Metro Station (a commercial, not touristic area). The staff at front desk is very kind and helpful, but not very well informed about some places of touristic interest . The room is small and very basic, the shower needs urgent repairs and the restaurant is very bad (it's settled at the roof of the hotel and the kitchen seems to be at open sky side by side with a dirty room).

We arrived on New Years Day at around 4 am in the morning. Our flight was also delayed and so our pickup had been waiting for several hours. However, we were treated very well from pickup to the day we left.

The staff were all very nice and always willing to help. They gave us maps and were able to direct us to the places that we wanted to see or go to. They were able to arrange a driver for one of the days at our stay a very reasonable price. He was extremely kind and took us wherever we wanted.

The rooms were clean and made up every day. The hot water took literally about 5-10 minutes of running before it would actually turn hot but this was quite common during our entire stay in India. At night, make sure you have ear plugs because it can get very loud. To be fair, I found this to be true of all our hotels in India.

Breakfest was very good with hot indian bread and accompanying curry (potatoes/peas/carrots etc.) along with some type of western food such as hot/cold cereal, toast, juice, coffee/tea. You were also able to request eggs/omelette to order. This was all served buffet style.

One thing I wanted to mention was that there will be a multitude of scams at delli train station with people trying to convince you that the trains were not running or any number of excuses to try and get you not to line up. If you are planning on taking a train, get in a line (no matter how long) and be vigilant. If you have any questions go up to the ticket booths becuase there will be many people at the station who look like they work there but actually do not, and will try to convince you to go the "Tourist Information Center" to get a driver or bus. However, if you are willing to pay for a driver to do the golden triangle, dehli-agra-jaipur, at about $250-300 US all in for 5 days it's extremely convenient and safe.

Basically the point is do what you want to do because there will be plenty of people who will try to convince you to dish out more money than you're willing to pay.

Anyways, in regards to Sun City, it was a good experience overall, besides the hot water situation.

Excellent stay. Karol Bagh was actually the nicest part of Delhi that we experienced. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms clean and spacious and airconditioned. The complementary breakfast has many options to choose from. Wi-fi access is consistent as well.
I would recommend this hotel to people traveling to Delhi if they are
looking for a reasonable deal and a good place. the only downside I can think of is the 45 minutes it takes to get from the hotel to the international airport. I have myself been there twice and if needed, I would chose Hotel Suncity even on my next visit
This is a great hotel for the money in my opinion

This was the last hotel where I stayed after a month of travelling around India. I arrived in Delhi at the beginning of December and at that time I stayed in a place which I really didn’t' like. So, for my return back to Delhi I booked this other hotel, choosing among the hotels with good reviews in Tripadvisor and...well this was really a good choice!. The hotel is in Karolh Bagh, not far from the metro station. Although this is a very noisy area, the hotel is quite both during the day and the night. The room where I stayed was small but clean, with a tv set, refrigerator and a spacious bathroom (there was hot water almost all the time, except for one morning but there was a problem with the heater and they fixed it quickly). The only problem was that during the night it was really cold in the room.
The breakfast was included and it was good. I had once dinner in my room and the food was ok.
What I most of all remember of my stay at Hotel Suncity was the very kind and helpful staff.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The first day seemed to us a weird location but it wasn´t, we could easily go to the market area and to the metro station.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially at the reception desk. We also had easy acces to internet in the room (wireless), something that we missed in other hotels while visiting Agra , Jaipur and other places in Rajastan. They helped us a lot by finding a driver and transportation for all our trip.
The room was too small for us, but clean. The toilet stunk a little and it didn´t have any ventilation.
The first night we couldn´t sleep easily because other guest and part of the staff were runnig up and down and talking aloud, so we complained and it wasn´t that bad th next nights. It won´t be bad to put a carpet on the stairs and halls and to train the staff to avoid making so much noise.
Something were Suncity should really improve is the "dining room", it was an awful small room without windows, the service was slow and the place is not clean enough, to have an example: it was digusting to touch the salt and pepper because the recipients were so dirty. But they had good food and breakfast was included in the price, so this is not a complain but a suggestion. Thank you very much!

The location is acceptable for delhi sightseeing (Tuk-Tuk, Metro). The hotel arranged both airport taxi transfers. Internet is available (Rs 30 1h, Rs 60 2h, Rs 200 full day, one computer only at WiFi).

I stayed here for 2 nights in November 2010. The hotel was comfortable, but nothing special. The location was a bit off the beaten track - it took our taxi driver 20 minutes of driving around the neighborhood to find it. There isn't a lot nearby in terms of restaurants, etc, but you can walk to the metro station. The included breakfast was disappointing - mostly lukewarm and not that great. We ate dinner once at the restaurant (there being few other choices nearby). We were the only customers in the restaurant and felt a bit pressured to order things.

We arrived at the hotel around 8 something at night. It was rather dark and looked like a quiet back street (a little scary) - but we were comfortable with the hotel driver who picked us up from the airport, so did not worry too much. Hotel lift is tiny - fits 2 large adults with small bags. Big pieces of luggage have to come later - nimble hotel bellboys sent our bags up to our room.

We ordered dinner at the hotel restaurant and had to wait well over 30 minutes before we were served. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, but not very efficient.

Room was fairly spacious and comfortable with modern, functional bathroom. Recently refurbished. Marble makes the room very cool (cold in winter months).

Breakfast is simple - Indian type breads (roti / poori / paratha) with gravy, yoghurt, cornflakes, toast, jam and fruit with coffee or tea. You can ask the waiter for eggs (their omelette is flat, and the cook is liberal with salt and pepper).

In daylight, we found our bearings and realised that location is pretty good after all. Lots of nice shops within 5 - 10 minutes walk. There is a good south indian restaurant nearby - Saravana Bhawan. There is also a pharmacy nearby. Karol Bagh market has clothing, souvenir and food shops. Channa Market, where Suncity Hotel is, has small local shops where you can buy spices, snacks, Indian groceries and papads to bring home.

There is an LRT station about 15-20 minutes walk away, but you can climb into an autorickshaw outside the hotel that will take you anywhere you need to go. If you take the LRT at Karol Bagh, you are 2 stops away from the Laxhmi Narayan temple. An autorickshaw ride to Connaught PLace takes less than 20 minutes - and is a very exciting experience (like being in a bollywood movie, zipping through crazy delhi traffic).

It's a simple, no-frills hotel. Good for a little local flavour thanks to friendly staff and interesting locale.

This is a dated hotel in Karol Bagh area of Delhi. The service was pretty good although not exactly what was promised. Pick-up car was too small, taxi to airport didn't know what he was doing, laundry had to be done twice. Felt safe, food was OK (interesting breakfast room, too small, not prepared), reasonably priced for Delhi. I do think that there are probably dozens of hotels just like this one in Delhi but I was happy to find this one and that it turned out OK. Again, I felt safe and I believe that's important.

During my first and brief stay at Hotel Suncity i certainly realised that if one is travelling for business and is not too choosy about big names and the 4 star and above category then this is an ideal place to stay in. The best advantage being the close proximity to Delhi Metro Station which is certainly a boon for Business travellers because as they say "TIME IS MONEY" and when in Delhi if its not the metro then it certainly is hell to travel by roads. Secondly the staff is very well mannered and very friendly indeed which is a contrast to the somewhat rough tongue and language that Delhites are famous for. Finally the rooms are comfortable although not big but decently sized to accomodate one self for nights after a hard and hectic work schedule during days. I will cartainly recommend it to my friends and fellow trip advisor loyals to try out this hotel.. and lastly even though it is situated in the heart of karol bagh market it is in one of the by lanes and hence the road and traffic chaos is almost negligible compared to the other hotels i have stayed in.

It was my first stay in India and I loved it. The hotel was very helpful and reliable. It was in an area not far from the center and not far from the metro so you could travel easily. It's better to arrive with the hotel's car driver because the streets don't have signs and it's hard to find otherwise. Just be aware that you have to "pay" or give tips for some services like them bringing your bag to your room, having internet or you eating the food from your room. In general I liked this hotel.

This was reasonably priced and they waited for us despite our plane being very late. I recommend checking that the location works for you. The Suncity hotel was a reasonable budget hotel but its rooms lacked space and light. As expected in an Indian city hotel the only window in the room faced out three feet across to an adjacent brick wall. The cleanliness for Indian hotels was pretty good and the bathroom was decent. The breakfast which we had included in the price was a bit of a let down as there was barely any food on offer, comprising of self made toast and tea or coffee made with milk and sugar pre-added. The staff where very friendly and it was in fact a quiet hotel during our stay. It was not, however, value for money as it was not to the stated 3* standard. Would only recommend if you don't mind paying a bit more for a sure option.

Room: The standard rooms are tiny, but well kept. There's about 2 ft of space around the bed, between the bed and the walls. The bathrooms are a good size. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, if a little firm.

Location: The location is close to the Delhi Metro and the Karol Bagh shopping district -- a 5-10 minute walk from both. Taxi drivers had great difficulty finding the hotel. Before we knew our way around, we'd end up in rickshaws or taxis driving around in circles trying to find the hotel. There isn't a taxi or rickshaw stand anywhere nearby, so be prepared to walk a while to find either.

Amenities: The free breakfast consists of cereal and warm milk. There was a fruit bowl that was empty each day we went up for the breakfast buffet. Eggs can be ordered, but are greasy bordering on inedible for a western palate. The wifi is overpriced and metered. Its a lot cheaper to find a cybercafe for your internet usage. The water from the hot water faucet is marginally warmer than the cold water faucet. Most rooms have a view of a cement wall a few feet from the building. Take down the number of a taxi service and find your own travel agent (down the road) for any tours or travel around town. The staff will mark these services up by as much as 90% if you book a car or tour through the hotel.

If you're looking for a barebones budget hotel, and only looking for a bed for the night, Sun City is the place for you. It is close to the Karol Bagh shopping district.

We stayed here on two occasions, once before our golden triangle tour and then before departing to singapore. Hotel was easy to access and not too far from the airport. Located in a quiet area of karol bagh with good restaurants and main shopping street in walking distance. It was also a short drive to the major sights and attractions including india gate, parliament, humayan's tomb and connaught place.
We had two different rooms on our visits, both having ac, flat screen tv, minibar fridge, large bathroom with hot water shower. The first room was on the first floor and was slightly unkempt and in need of a facelift. The second room we had was on the third floor which had the same lay out but finished to a better standard.
However as visitors to Delhi, if you are likely to be out for most of the day, this hotel is comfortable, reasonably priced and well located. It also has good night-life and the area feels safe. There is also a nearby restaurant/bar called Spicy By Nature located on Saraswati Marg which has brilliant Indian and Chinese food that we recommend for couples and families.

Arrived at the Hotel SunCity after the hotel where I had my original reservation was overbooked. Was not happy after travelling in excess of 24 hours. Was shown the room which was fairly basic and quite dated but decided to stay the night as I was tired after my long trip. The hotel is a good basic budget hotel. The rooms are a little dark, but clean and tidy. Satelitte TV and wireless were unexpcted bonuses. Was going to move to another hotel in the morning, but decided to stay as it wasn't worth wasting my limited time. The staff were very accommodating and assisted with a driver on a number of occasions and a number of little requests. The restaurant was hot and not very pleasant, being located on the rooftop, with insufficient ventilation, so I mainly resorted to room service. The chicken fried rice was an absolute delight for my somewhat delicate stomach. My shower was like a garden sprinkler with water going everywhere except in the shower - I mentioned this to the management, but nothing was done during my stay. I enjoyed the local markets which were in close walking distance to the hotel and made some good purchases. All in all, I could not have faulted the hotel if I had wanted a budget hotel - however this was not what I had originally booked. No fault of the Hotel SunCity, who did their best to assist in every way possible - even providing a room free of charge for an hour when I returned from my trip to Agra and Jaipur and collected my large suitcase which they had held for me.

This was the first hotel I stayed in during my trip to India. The location is off a quiet sideroad in Karol Bagh, which at night has a slightly eerie feel (I arrived very early morning). In fairness, I arrived before the usual check-in time and was offered some tea during my wait of about an hour. I was also allowed in to the room earlier than the usual check in time. The room was ok, with a fridge/minibar. However it was very noisy and I could hear the people in the reception very easily. With a window opening onto a wall it felt a little cramped though I didnt mind as I only slept there.
The main reason I downgraded the hotel was the fact that staff there had tried to overcharge me on several occasions. Firstly, when I had to extend my stay, I was initially told I had to pay a room-rate which was significantly higher than the rate I had payed from the UK. It was only when I showed my Expedia account and proof of the price I payed that they agreed. Also, when I tried to use the reception to help me book train tickets they were trying to charge me extortionate commission (I booked via an agent for one fifth of what they asked me). When I left the hotel for the train station I was again charged double the rate which I payed for the airport taxi (and subsequent hotels all charged me lower rates). All this made me very weary of using the hotel to help me with tours etc. Overall, the value for money in Delhi hotels is much less than other areas like Rajasthan.

The hotel is situated in the lively Karol Bagh district, close to the metro, so there is easy access into the centre of Delhi (if Delhi even has a centre). We visited in foggy January and the place was clean, with no indication of bugs or roaches, although our room's window looked out onto a brick wall. The staff were helpful and courteous. The dining room on the ground floor is a somewhat grubby, small, windowless cell, although there is a much nicer (and cleaner) dining room on the roof, which we ate in on the second day. It cost us 250 rupees to get here in a pre-paid taxi from the airport.

India was our last destination on our year backpacking round the world. We booked this hotel because it looked okay on the website, although the picture of the hotel where it looks detached with the blue sky in the background is photoshopped. They took out the buildings surrounding it as they are pretty run down looking.

As another reviewer said, our taxi driver didnt know the hotel, but we eventually found it. It is located near the busy financial district, there are plenty of ATMs, shops etc nearby.

The hotel itself is ok by Indian standards for a budget room. It is fairly clean and new. We had breakfast in what I think was a board room, and we ordered food to the room which was fine.

One thing I would like to make travellers aware of was when I went to pay the bill at reception, I was told I had to go in a car with a guy to a travel agency type place to pay, I couldnt pay at reception. I dont know if this is standard practice or they were trying to sell me some trips/excursions, I just went there, payed the bill and left. The guy seemed annoyed that I wouldnt give them a chance to sell me any trips etc. For this reason I would not recommend.

India was very different from anywhere else we've been in the world. In new delhi, you may find families and cattle living on the street around the corner from your hotel. The contrast can be difficult to deal with.

Stayed here for one night at the start of a three week journey across India - it was the most expensive and the worst of the hotels we stayed in .One of the reasons we booked the hotel was that the airport transfer was included in the price. The transfer was in a filthy car that took twenty minutes to walk to and was so small our baggage had to be strapped to the roof.
Don't believe the hotels website photos - they bear no resemblance to the hotel now.It is in a dirty and dusty area and we were immediately hassled when we walked out the door.
On our way back through Delhi we stayed at the Aura Hotel which I would highly recommend. I don't understand why this hotel has the rating it has on this site.

If you are with family, or a low budget low level executive or low earning professional then this is the place for you. If you are high middle class, rich, senior level exe or high earning pro then this is not your type. Karol bagh is too congested and there are more roomy locations in Delhi. They don't give you a bottle of water which is unique as all other hotels give atleast one complimentary every day! breakfast food, ambience and service are very poor, menu is limited and if you need water, omlette you make run those only two boys somewhere else. staff at reception is warm, cooperative. Lift is very small and one person with two luggage pieces cannot go at one time! bathrooms and hot water supply are good. TV is as usual with bad reception like most such hotels in ndia and it irritates you and your eyes at the end of hard working day when you return and swtch on these TVs too bad!

Booked the hotel after reading a couple of reviews. Location is not too bad. The hotel lobby and the exterior is completely run down. Needs vast improvement. The room allotted to me was very small, had an airconditioner and absolutely no openable windows. At night the staff itself were very loud outside the room and this made it very difficult to sleep. The quality of linen and other furnishings were not very inspiring either.

Breakfast was included in the package and was a sad two course affair, with cold paranthas, corn flakes and nothing much else. Yes there were some fresh fruits too.

The rate charged offers much better quality in Karol baug itself, not to mention the other areas of delhi.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights and the main problem was that we couldn't sleep well, due to a lot of noise from the staff working in the kitchen upstairs.
The room was fairly clean, the area is quite shabby but that's Delhi and you can't be too choosy unless you're prepared to go five-stars. Location is good, very close to the train station. The young man at reception was extremely polite and helpful, but he has to battle against quite incompetent and unprofessional staff. The dining area was very dirty, unbearably so, the service poor.
We booked a car through the hotel and the driver was quite rude, the A/C in the car was not working, even if we had paid for an A/C vehicle.
Overall it was not bad, but only considering the shocking standard of Delhi. Anywhere else I wouldn't even consider staying in a place like that.

The old adage "You get what you pay for" certainly applies to this place. It is as cheap as you can get; but in Karol Bagh there are so many mid-range lower end hotels that this hotel simply does not match up to others like Swati Hotels and Hotel Vishal to name a few. We arrived late at night, and found the hotel in complete darkness and all the staff persons sleeping.

If you need a budget hotel, and one that is in a busy part of town, called Channa market, then this hotel will suit your needs. To get to Connaught Place it was only a 100 rupee ride by tuk-tuk or 300 ruppe by taxi. Getting a taxi back to the area is always tricky as people dont like going to this cramped market area.

The room we stayed in was white with big polka dots all over the ceiling. It was not very clean; we found left over food and dirty buckets in the room. No windows or view from our room so you certainly felt boxed in. If you travel in winter, bundle up: this hotel is cold cold cold. They say they have a heater on but we were freezing, and we are from a cold country! They will give you lots of blankets, all made out of polyester so that is usually not very warm no matter how many you use.

It was helpful that they had a mini-bar and snacks in the room. The TV had many channels and worked fine. Water was the big issue at this hotel. Hot water was a pain to get and when you did it only lasted for 5-10 minutes maximum. At other times, there was no water, hot or cold.

Breakfast was either downstairs in a cramped room or upstairs on a terrace which was nicer. Usually Indian fare and eggs of your choice. No frills type of breakfast. The people who work there are definitely nice, but not the greatest with dispensing information about the area. And, it was good of the hotel to let us use the internet for free, and it was relatively fast speed.

Would I stay here again? No way. We stayed in Karol Bagh twice after that and stayed at Hotel Vishal. You can find all kinds of travel agencies around Connaught Place (ask the tuk-tuk drivers, we went to Sonny, many people seem to know him) and got a very good deal for a better hotel.

One good thing about Delhi, there are no shortages of small independently owned hotels.

Whilst this hotel is well located (close to shops and the delhi metro) I struggle to find any positives aside from this. We stayed for 2 nights and despite being moved to their best room, this hotel is not one we will ever return to. Heres why:

- The rooms and bathrooms are filthy - we dared not to walk barefooted
- A lot of the fittings are damaged - our flush leaked and our tv remote did not work properly
- The 2 rooms we stayed in had next to no natural light
- The breakfast we ordered (toast - nothing extravagant) was insipid
- There was a lot of noise during the night from the kitchen/ restaurant on the top floor of the hotel which disrupted our sleep.
- When we tried to book a taxi through the hotel we were initially quoted an extortionate amount which quickly came down by 30% when challenged.

Avoid at all costs!

Avoid this hotel like the plague.

This place is filthy dirty and all services including breakfast which was of an extremely low standard in a small cramped room with used dirty table cloths and mats. The breakfast was very basic and because the dining area was so dirty we could not eat there.

I'll forgive many things, but a very basic level of cleanliness is a non-negotiable.

Specifically:
The arranged hotel transport took a long time to find the hotel as it is down a dingy ally way and hotel sign does not work. I think this was a sign!
As you enter the lobby it is dirty. The walls, floor and furniture are all extremely dirty and un-kept.
The elevator worked, as you exited the elevator you had to dodge the pile of dirty linen and clothes bunched up in front of the door (this was there for the whole night and the next day). The passage way was filthy and the walls extremely dirty.
The room was small and comprised of a very old worn out double bed, air conditioner which did not work, fan that was very noisy and table and chairs that were so badly maintained you could not sit down.
We could tolerate all this but when you opened the bathroom door it was unbelievably disgusting (see photos). The shower was filthy and I mean filthy (for reference I was born and lived in India so I mean filthy) the mold was probably 3 millimeters thick and the vanity and basin was unusable, or yes and there was no hot water.

The pictures of the hotel on the web site are very old or been photo shopped (edited) to look good.

I could go on, but I'm depressing myself thinking about it.

We booked this place for three nights due to its good Trip Advisor rating, the ratings were obviously false. We had to stay there the first night because we arrived late we left the next morning and they did not refund anything.

We booked this hotel after the reviews and the pictures on here. We emailed and asked for an early check in as we would be arriving at 5am and my father is elderly so we would pay extra. We turned up at a building site of a hotel in the middle of nowhere. The man behind the desk told us our rooms would not be ready until 12 even though we showed them their confirmation of this. He seemed very disinterested and just ignored us and told us to sit on the settee for 7 hours until the room was ready! We managed to ring around and get another hotel instead thankfully.

I booked a super deluxe room, it was too small to be super deluxe. The bathroom was too small, and I could not use the toilet comfortably since the toilet was extremely close to the wash hand basin.

Worst of all, when I was in the shower someone opened the door to my room. When they saw my colleague waking up they just ran away. Had I been on my own, there's no telling what might have happened. There was nothing to secure the door from the inside, such as a bolt, which would have prevented the door from being opened from the outside with a spare key. I complained to the staff at reception, and was told that the hotel manager was not there and would not be available until the next day. They appeared not to be listening and were not very helpful.

I eventually managed to speak to the hotel manager on the phone, and he told me that he would make enquiries into the above mentioned incident and send me an e-mail offering an explanation. He has not sent me any e-mail as of yet.
