one of the best hotel of kolhapur,i had been there once only, the rooms were well furnished, the best part was the service that was offered, cleanliness was one of their strong point.though a bit costlier, the hotel is a best place to stay with family, very secure and very private.

Pretty decent stay at the hotel. I have visited & stayed here thrice.
The superior room is pretty good, though I would not recommend deluxe room.

Location is very nice & so is the service. The best part about the hotel is the open air restaurant offering mouth watering cuisine.

Perfect stay, the staff is simply great.

Hi ,

If you are really looking for a bight above average hotel in kolhapur then its one of the best to stay having a little higher rates as compared to other hotels in and around it but the rooms and service are according to the charges. They have big rooms and very comfortable stay. They provide free packaged drinking water, complimentary breakfast and wifi connection. The staff is quite decent and co-operative. You have quite a good multicusine restaurant and the taste is really good.

i had been in this hotel for 2 days i have been always reading reviews of the places and alos the hotels if possible of the location i have planned to stay in,and this has always helped me.
i wanted to prefer shalini palace another hotel near rankala talav, as this palace hotel is something coverted from a palce in to a 3 star hotel.but i got mixed reviews and so thought will give that a try next time. now about rayson regency. nice hotel clean surrounding, hygenic feel,
complimentry wifi service. they arrange good cars for a local tour within min.
thsi hotel is too reasonable if u know the prices of hotel in mumbai you won't get this service in less than 5k. they give u a complimentry breakfast.
this hotel is just 10 min from railway station and the private of st bus depot. so very comfortable even if u reach this place at around 3 am. there are plenty of autos and are reasonable even at night as for morning its meter reading.
we had been here to visit the kolapur mahalaxmi temple and took around 30 min from the hotel by a rick.the temple is superb, peda is also awesum.
then we called up the hotel guy in the reception and asked him to arrange for local car to go for a local tour. even if there is a time crunch and have 3 hrs in hand do visit the shahu maharaj museum u will fell by seeing maharaj's pic that he has done nothing except for eating and hunting but fine aur karta b kya angrez hoke hote, but a very learned man indeed and the kaneri matt not to forget that both the places are awesum and exhaustive. kaneri though u feel a bit expensive while getting the tickets (40 per person) but totally worth that money not an easy job to maintain that concreted village.
enjoy and do have the lunch and dinner at the gokul restaurant near railway station. every 1 knows it just sit in rick and tell him gokul. food is awesum as this place is near the border area.

Our destination this summer was Wildernest, Goa. We were travelling by road and being a family of four with two kids, we decided to take it ‘one day at a time’! Wildernest is a resort that is located in Swapnagandha Valley and is 65kms from Panaji. The distance from Hyderabad to Wildernest is pretty tedious, so we decided to break journey at Kolhapur and head for Wildernest the next day.

We stayed at Hotel Raysons Regency and it is the best hotel in Kolhapur. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location and is very easy to locate. It is a new property and the rooms are well designed. The service is good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is moderately priced and tasty. The basic amenities are provided in the room and the rooms are well equipped. The complimentary breakfast did not have much to offer but for a small town like Kolhapur, this hotel was value for money. I would definitely stay at this hotel if I were to visit Kolhapur again.

I regularly go for business trip across India.i was on trip to Kolhapur and i loved to stay at hotel raysons.

The hotel was excellent with major of the facilities available in house , also with 3 start facilities.

The rates of hotel were also less compares to other 's and even the restaurant and bar rates were very cheap and less for pocket

Loved staying at the hotel and surely stay for next time

well folks,it was a stay made pleasant in kolhapur just because of rayson regency. The room was attractive and neat.Food was on average. We had a flight to bombay so the complimentary drop was made useful.
The staff was co-operative and had fellowship. The Hotel needs some more attention towards their washroom segment as it doesnt go with the room's quality.but overall it was a pleasant atmosphere, all thanks to TRIPADVISOR.

We did not expect much from this hotel on account of the mixed reviews in Tripadvisor. However it was a pleasant surprise to find the hotel very good particularly the food which was beyond expectations.Buffet breakfast was a treat with excellent south Indian chutneys etc.

The staff was very co-operative and helpful

Stayed here for 01 night in June'11. The room initially offered to me was having twin beds so i requested for a room with a king size bed. Since no standard room with king size bed was available, i was upgraded to a suite room [ They charged a couple of rupees extra :( for this up gradation ]

Now coming to the room, the room was quite good with a spring mattress on the bed, LCD TV, Coffee maker, working table, and a mini bar. The bathroom too was neat and clean.

The room service was quick and the food was tasty. Will surely recommend this hotel to people who are willing to shell out around Rs. 2500/- per day.

Located just a few kilometers from the Mahalaxmi temple and in the vicinity of the market, this hotel is easy to spot from some distance away. Parking space is limited and the hotel offers to park your vehicle elsewhere. We found our room a bit small and the air-conditioner showed its age, both in terms of vibration & inadequate cooling. The restaurant rates were reasonable, and a Baskin Robbins counter in the lobby offered dessert! This is definitely one of the better hotels around, albeit at a slightly higher price.

The hotel has different categories of rooms, the one that i stayed in were the superior category.

The hotel is well located near the main bus stop and around 2 km from the station. The hotel lobby is sufficient, though must add that there is a baskin robins in the lobby! The staff are courteous and friendly and quite helpful. And to my surprise some of them have an excellent memory considering that I have stayed here before, and had a slight mix up in terms of booking last time. The hotel has complementary wifi so get the password when u checkin.

About the rooms - i stayed in the superior rooms. The rooms are clean, have wooden flooring, good mattress, clean sheets, coffee maker, LCD with cable and hot/cold water, the washroom contained basic toileteries which are sufficient for business travellers, the cupboard also had an electric safe. Although i must say that the hotel could probably provide better towels considering that they want to be the best business hotel.

Room service is prompt, and the food tastes ok, the menu has a big choice. The hotel also has a nice looking bar.

Overall the hotel is good value for money, and would be recommended as the better hotel in Kolhapur as I have stayed or have had a look at the other options available in Kolhapur.

A nice hotel in Kolhapur to stay with. The best thing is - they have a gym. the worst thing is - they charge half day for early check-in's. breakfast and internet is complimentary - but both are limited as the breakfast served is only South Indian and Internet speed is too slow, making you feel those dial-up ages. The staff is every ready to help you. food served in the restaurants is good. Rooms are quite big enough and with 5 star sleeping facilities. Overall a nice place to stay whilst you are on a business tour to kolhapur.

If you are in kolhapur and looking for smart hotel with affordable rate then this is it.

Rooms are appropriately sized and well maintained. Staff is good, knowing marathi helps though. They have a nice restaurant which is partly open air a day time ice cream parlor (Baskins). It is extremely close to station.

Little odd check in timings and times if you arrive by early train they absolutely not suitable.

They can instantly provide of cabs for local moves, rates are affordable again. They were going through some sort of renovation which made it noisy during day time (i was hardly in room then anyways).

Raysons Regency is comfortably located near the heart of town, yet less than 5 minutes away from the Pune highway. An auto will reach the station in less than 10 minutes from the station (Aug2010 - the fare is Rs. 30)

The staff are very courteous, bell boys are attentive & dont hang around for tips. (Although, they tend to speak in Marathi first - not a problem for me - but maybe for others...) room service was quick (except for 1 meal - but then, they called me twice that the kitchen had just opened and they would take some more time for the meal - a good redemption)

They were especially helpful since we were travelling with a toddler - all her little whims and fancies were met by them instantly - extra cushions for seats, horlicks, etc.

They also had a great mini-gym - just 2 treadmills & a couple of other machines, but I do wish that it was located elsewhere - being there right out in the open (next to the glass-fronted elevator) made my wife terribly conscious.

They have a travel desk - which is good in terms of service, but avoided in terms of value. Come on, 1000 bucks a day minimum? Even Mumbai is cheaper! If you have Google Maps & rudimentary knowledge of Hindi/Marathi, hire an auto & give the auto fellow a 15% tip at the end.
If you're pressed for time & just want to relax without any hassles, yes, please use the travel desk - the service won't leave you wanting.

The rooms, are the weakest link in the whole chain - the ambience, the finish, the carpentry, the touch-ups - they all could do with a little more polishing. Initially, when I saw the room, I had half a mind to check out, but then, a day later, when I had interacted with the staff, I forgave the room - but not everyone would probably do so...

Overall, Yes, a hotel worth considering, you won't regret staying here - but they could improve their act...

The hotel location and layout is excellent. The service is also very quick and satisfying. The food is excellent. Wifi connectivity is excellent. Where the hotel needs to focus is further tighten cleanliness in terms of finer points such as window ledge, common toliet, etc. The bath enclosure design in the room needs to be modified as water accumulates in the gap between the wall and plastic floor. But, overall a very satisfying experience. Will definitely recommend the hotel for visitors - both private and business.

My 1st trip to Kolhapur and the guys @ Hotel Raysons went out of the way to co-operate with me. The comfort factor given to me was awesome, especially frmo the time i sent them a general email asking them for tariff.

From then, they handheld me and walked me from Cochin through to Kolhapur giving me the best of directions, guidance and making me feel a true privileged guest.

The guidance included giving me tips on how much i should pay the auto and the distance etc, which are very practical tips and neverbefore found on websites. The staff @ Raysons made the check in easy and facilitated everything for me to feel comfort.

Food is awesome, especially the unique Tambda rasa .

the wake up call, when they could not get through to me on the phone, they promptly sent a person to wake me up and lived to their commitment.

my sincere thanks to mr.mandar who was my 1st point of contact and mr.milind for making it easier further.

i would recommend anyone who goes to Kolhapur to consider Raysons.

We went by the reviews on tripadvisor and decided to stay at Raysons Regency while on a road trip from Bangalore to Mumbai but were frankly dissapointed.
The hotel may have been one of the best that Kolhapur had on offer once upon a time but is now in a state of disrepair.
The paint is peeling off the walls in the rooms................ hot water in the bathrooms is non existent.............. the overall experience was fairly sub par considering that one paid close to Rs. 2500/- for a hotel in a small city like Kolhapur.
The hotel claims to have a central heating system for hot water supply.............. it does not seem to work even though the staff insisted on keeping all our bathroom taps flowing for at least 30 minutes so that the hot water supply reaches our room....... that too did not seem to work and we were quite shocked to see such wastage of water to handle an inefficient heating system which does not work.

Hotel Raysons Regency is a good hotel to stay in Kolhapur. It is very near t Railway Station and Bus stand and also at a convenient distance from Mahalakshmi Temple. The food is litle spicy (as everywhere in Kolhapur) but nice. Service is good. Rooms are also spacious.

Raysons turned out to be great choice. I usually stay at their rivals' on my official trips to Kolhapur. This hotel is located just right - a quick few minutes away from the Mahalakshmi temple or from Opal (temple of the other kinds ;) )
The executive room was plush, newly renovated and the sleep quality was great. I also like their parking facilities and the (Value for Money) vfm experience.
The other mentionable is the breakfast area...open air with a lot of close attention from the staff. At the risk of a few neem leaves falling into your tea cup, though!
The gym is a little bit of a joke though!

Happened to visit Kolhapur during the last week of January 2011 along with my family and child who is just about 18 months. Browsed through the net for a hotel and did not find much choices which were encouraging. Happened to see the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to continue with this hotel anyway.

On an overall basis, the rooms are ok and clean. The bathrooms are pathetic and dispite multiple reminders to the hotel staff nothing was done. I stayed there for 3 days and had to put up with stinking bathrooms. The room per se was good and worth the price charged. I stayed in a Superior Deluxe.

The restaurant has a decent range of offerings but could be improved upon. The hotel staff are very courteous. You do not have major parking space but then valet parking is available and overall they take care of the vehicle.

In comparison to other hotels which I happened to see or passby, I found this one to be better and would recommend this. However, have given a strong feedback to the staff on the state of the bathrooms and hope things would improve.

I stay in this hotel every time during by trip to my native place. I take an overnight halt at Rayson, and continue my journey the next day. I have been staying here for more than two time a year for past atleast four years. The stay has always been comfortable, though lately the rooms have started to look monotonous, and also the sheen has worn off. The food has always been good. The team at the hotel has been very friendly. Parking has been a issue because of the lack of space, but otherwise its a good place to stay.

We had stopped overnight in Kolhapur on a trip to Goa. The first impression of the hotel was good. It looks like a 3 star hotel.

However parking space was a big problem. It doesn't have enough parking space. One option was to give key to the security person and he will park it later at appropriate place, OR park almost on the road. We took the second option as we had luggage in the car and didn't want to trust anybody else with my car keys.

First impression of room was good. The room had wooden flooring, which looked great. The room was slightly smaller than it looks in the images online. The bed looked good with a nice bed spread. Removed the bed spread, the bedsheets were clean, however the blanket and the fabric on bed sides were not very clean. They had spots on it. Even the Sofa/chairs had spots on them.

The bathroom was ok, not great. It was basically old, designed in old ways. Fittings were not up to mark and the bathroom was dimmly lit. Basically it didn't give a good feel.

There were minor problems with the fan regulator also. The difference in fan speeds at level 4 and level 5 was very high. Though the room was AC, I like using fan also. It's like keep AC at comfortable temperature and use fan to get the right effect.

The one thing I really liked was breakfast buffet. It was very good with lots of options. Also it has free Wi-fi and airport pickup-drop shuttle, which I didn't use.

For me, number one criteria for a good hotel is having clean bed and bathroom. And this one didn't meet my expectations. So I won't be suggesting this hotel to my friends.

2 days back i stayed at hotel thinking it is the good hotel (as per the information and photos from internet), but i was not correct. I booked a Theme Suite (the costliest in hotel) for my family. The room was dusty and sofa was pretty unclean. there were 2 ACs which not cooling, we had a horrible time when at 12 oclock i had to ask for electrician to check the cooling, he said its because of lack of gas! we somehow managed to get hold of a table fan as it was sweating and my kid as unable to sleep. There was no hot water, internet was not working, sometimes working but was slower than the dial-up connection :), bathroom was stinking, hotel staff was not professional and were typical fellows.
we thought of having food and the captain was stupid, he hardly gave us any updates about our order. we had asked for a very few things, for that we waited for 90 mins (1.5 hr), my kid was going krazy, at 10.30-10.45 we were server , quality was down and we were not able to finish it. No body is concerned about the customers here.

My strong NO to this hotel.
