I love this place so much. Yes, maybe if you don't like noise, or a club feel, then no, you won't like it. Same if you don't like current music. I've been going here since I was little, I love the food, and the place itself. Definetely a must see for teen and young adults. Good service.. a littly pricy, but worth it.pleasure to be there

Stayed in this hotel with family for 3 days. We made a booking for double bed room via e-mail & got their confirmation, but surprisingly they provided us with a large family room on arrival, as double bed room was not available on that day. Rooms were clean enough. Thanx to Mr. Tegchand, the courteous manager of the hotel. He was always available for service. Location is good, within 5-10 minutes walk from RK Mission marg Metro station. It is situated in Paharganj, but not in the busy market area, so quiet place to stay. Restaurant is on the roof top of the hotel, room service is available. We traveled with our 3 yr old son, and foods were made as per our order. We had to catch the early morning train for Agra from N Delhi station. Location proved to be very helpful, as it takes 5-10 minutes by rickshaw to reach the station. We hired the car from the hotel at very competitive rate for Delhi sight seeing. By mistake I left my purse to the car, and even didn't notice it. Got a call from the driver & he returned it intact. Really helpful & reliable staff. Surely will stay in this hotel during my next trip to New Delhi. Room Rates were on little bit of higher side, but really it is value for money.

Despite the general grunginess of the area, the hotel itself was a gem with one of the most helpful staff I have ever encountered anywhere. The area seemed safe with good restaurants, ATMs, laundry services, cell phone services, and close proximities to the train station and Metro station. Taxi service was always arranged by the hotel, also with complimentary transport from the airport. Also private baths and complimentary coffee & tea. Hot breakfasts can be ordered - I had the best omelet in India provided this way. We had a fridge in our room and on request, stocked with beer and bottled water.

My boyfriend, two friends, and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Prior to our trip I was emailing with a number of hotels in this neighborhood near the train station. Vishal from the Pearl Plaza was by far the most responsive.

In advance he arranged for:
--A car to pick us up at the airport at 2am when our flight arrived
--A car, driver, and guide for a day trip to Agra
--2 Clean hotel rooms with plenty of bottled water

We had a great experience. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful.

The prices for the hotel and all the additional services they arranged for us were also very reasonable.

Happy travels!

If your looking for a safe place to leave your bags and sleep at night THIS IS IT!!! The Pearl Plaza is walking distances to ATMs, restaurants, bars and the market. Your given a nice strong lock to lock your room.

We had one room with 2 twin sized beds for 900 rupees (around $19.00). We had to call down for hot water and it was available within 15 minutes. The bathroom had a western toilet, they supplied toilet paper but no other toiletries. Bring toilet paper not available in most public Indian bathrooms.

I stayed in 5 different hotels in India if your fussy about your pillow bring one-they all seemed to hard. Another common thing I saw was stained but clean sheets. Room also had ceiling fan & A/C

Remember to lock your door! If you order room service they will knock & walk in at the same time-instead of waiting for you to open the door.

Enjoy!!

This is a lovely place and I will stick to it next time I have to stay in Delhi. Prices are very reasonnable, I paid 1000 rupees and I believe it is 1200 rupees for a double room, It is in the crazy Pahar Ganj, but not in the middle of it, so not too bad. It is VERY clean, nice and pretty well decorated..I mean simple but it doensn't need more. Staff: very helpful, cabs to the airport too pricy though. It is possible to get one for at least a fourth of the price. They have hot water and the metro is very nearby, although once it is dark, I gues it is better to take a rickshaw as the surroundings of the metro didn't feel very safe.
I definitely recommend it and I think It is worth paying a few more rupees to stay there and be able to have a good night sleep than staying in a hardly cheaper place and stay awake all night... Pahar Ganj IS a noisy and quite dirty place, but this hotel is the best compromise I found so far.

The Pearl Plaza, central New Delhi Hotel at affordable rates is well-connected with various tourist places and commercial hubs of the India's capital, as Jantar Mantar, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, as well as the well known shopping areas of Connaught Place and Karol Bagh.

The Pearl Plaza, the right choice for business and tourist travels, is a New Delhi budget hotel, where guests will find a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere complete of the best services and hospitality.

The Pahar Ganj location is convenient to most parts of New Delhi but the culture shock upon arrival is off the charts. Look beyond the street scene and you will find a great value in the Pearl Plaza. Hot water (when requested) and good pressure in the shower. The room is relatively clean with warm blankets on the beds and flat screen TV with dish access. Most travelers will feel more comfortable bringing their own sheet as the linens are not the best. The staff is the high point - they can get you everything from breakfast in the morning to beers in the evening. Trust their judgement and put yourself in their capable hands for restaurant choices, shops and drivers. We stayed four nights and enjoyed all of the time spent their. Request a room off of the street if you are not a heavy sleeper. Spend some of your down time up on the roof with a sunset beer and definitely spend some time talking with the Nepali staff. Great meals can be obtained down the street and internet access is also available across the street from the hotel. Laundry service is inexpensive and reliable. Keep in mind this is a value rate lodging choice (three of us shared a room at $32 (US) per night. We felt safe and secure throughout the stay.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and found the staff very helpfull, the rooms were large and kept very clean, the hotel is in a very manic part of delhi but was great fun just watching the street life. Very good value for money, but Paharganj area is not for the faint hearted.

Stayed here with friends as a hub in and out of New Delhi. The hotel arranged car service to/from the int'l airport and to/from the Taj Mahal the next morning. I definitely recommend this hotel as a stress-free way of traveling around and into/out of Delhi - they took care of everything and were happy to assist.

We stayed at Pearl Plaza in Paharganj, Delhi for 2 nights in the middle of May 2009.
We got lost in Paharganj (which is a big market) on our way there on the first day, but on the second day we had no problems finding it anymore, even at night.

Here is a summary of our impressions from the Pearl Plaza.

positive:
- email communication with the hotel was very fast (we made a reservation in advance. In Delhi making a reservation in advance is strongly reccomended, as there are not so many good hotels and prices are quite high)
- very good price for double AC room (no breakfast, but breakfast could be booked extra for 80 Rs. p.P.) - 1100 Rs including taxes.
- reasonable price for airport pick up - 600 Rs for AC car. The Airport is quite far away from the city (ca 30min drive). Prepaid taxis from the eirport are cheaper, however.
- friendly staff
- nice, modern furniture
- warm water
- comfortable beds
- clean linen
- laundry and dry- cleaners' service which was quite cheap (15Rs. p. piece of clothing) and returns the laundry on the same day
- free tea around the clock
- TV and fridge
- a lot of restaurants, internet cafes and shopping possibilities all around.

negative:
- no internet
- many rooms have no windows
- ACs temperature is being controlled centrally, by the reception staff. Thatswhy our room was quite cold when the AC was on. We even could not switch it off ourselves.
- no wardrobe in the room

Staff were helpful. Situated just off Main Market in New Delhi. Don' t let the title 'market' fool you into thinking there will be lots of things to buy as it's mainly food and essentials. The hotel is good value. Breakfast is served to your room but there is a restaurant just next door.

Its a nice place with good rooms, 12 noon check out time, with average price 1000 Rs.
But manager is a big whiner and always in bad mood! Later we told him that we checking out at 11 pm, and he agreed. After while he told us, that we need to leave earlier then that and blah blah blah! And during the day we stayed in the room and his staff keep shutting out TV, AC or power. And phone dosnt work, and everytime I have to go down (from the 4th floor) to ask why its off again.
Its 1st and last time I stayed there!

This hotel is in a crazy part of Delhi. its sort of situated between old and new Delji, so lots of old crumbling building, a mix of old and new architecture and plenty to see.

The hotel was nice a clean in the lobby and it has clearly undergone refurbishment. I think parts of it are still undergoing refub but the stay at the hotel was unaffected by this as its in a different part of the building.

Service, would have recived a higher mark had it not been for the following:

1. We arrived from our flight at 5am. we had specifically requested a double bed in a double room. we specifically requested that we did not have 2 single beds pushed together. Thats exactly what we would have ended up with had we not have shown them our email request. Saying that we were then taken to a lovely room.

2. We had asked for a room to be reserved for our friend that was joining us a couple days later. On the day of his arrival, we were told that a large party would be coming to the hotel and they could no longer accomodate us all. therefore, we checked out earlier than expected. which was disappointing.

The general state of the hotel is good, the staff are really lovely but the reservation team are imbeciles so try and confirm your room requests in writing, so that you can keep the proof of whats been said.

further, there is NO WIFI access as stated, so please do not rely on this when you make your plans!

good for the price they charge - so book directly through the hotel to save 5 pounds or so on the rate

Centrally located in a rather noisy street, this is a low budget hotel with few frills. The rooms are large and reasonably clean but, in January, very cold. On asking for a heater we were offered a single bar electric fire for 300 rupees a day that made little impact. Plenty of blankets on the bed but no sheets. We asked for a car to meet us at the airport which was there when we arrived but unfortunately would not start. Our first impression of India was push starting the recalcitrant vehicle! Although we did not request it the staff were quick to put us in contact with a local vehicle hire company who tried hard to sell us a car & driver package instead of our railway reservations using exaggerated claims of unreliability on the trains as threat. We did not appreciate this and other attempts to make additonal money out of us. Finally on settling the account they failed to credit us with our prevously paid deposit - a modest sum but upsetting never the less. I would not return to this hotel if I could find any better.

My wife and I stayed here just one night in January. As others have noted, you are likely to be "encouraged" to book travel by the folks that pick you up at the airport, but if you are not interested, just tell them your onward travels are taken care of and be firm about it. The location is convenient to the train station, but this area of town is definitely not for the faint of heart any time of day, so especially take note if you have a really early morning train and it‘s dark. It’s creepy as hell.

We stayed at this hotel a few times. The rooms are OK. The linens are not spotless, definitely had not been changed but this is normal for Indian hotels/hostals (unless you go to upscale places), so bring your own if you wish. Also if you use the AC, there is no blanket and it gets pretty cold. I had my sleeping bad.
The first time we stayed the AC worked the whole time and the room was freezing. The next time, the AC was turned off through the main switch downstairs so it got stuffy and hot. Complain and ask for a discount if this happens. Everything is negotiable in India!
Rickshaws and taxis are easily accessible, the staff will even fetch you one if needed. Friendly, safe, hot water, good price.
Located in Paharganj, metro station (Rama Krishna) is 2min walk, plenty of dirt and beggars, so if your first time and day in India, be prepared to be shocked.
New Delhi railway station is super close and a ride with a rickshaw should be no more than 40-50 rupees. Nizamuddin is farther away.

The first thing that hits you smack in the face is that the photos are not truly reflective of the surroundings. Pahar Ganj is like a pot pourri of the dusty Wild West, and people are always in a rush. That said, the market, book stalls and tea shops (Madan's) are great places to visit.
The breakfast offered was very rudimentary; an overoiled omelette served witha grimy plastic fork; I didn't expect Cordon Bleu cuisine but at least something that resembled airline food as a bottomline.
If you are visiting Delhi; fork out that bit extra for comfort; it's definitely dustier than either Mauritus (where I live) or UK (where I grew up). People spit without warning, and air pollution is rampant. Crowds are commonplace, and may be daunting for the first time traveller; I thought that my experiences in Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur would prepare me for Delhi but I was very wrong; the former two are a comparative walk in the park.

Insomma.

We friends had gone to Delhi for F1 and booked the hotel almost couple of months back. I think, considering the property, we paid really high. We had reached hotel at around 10.30 (check in was at 12). They could not provide us a room as they claimed that the hotel was full. We had kept our luggage with reception and went to watch the F1. We had told them to transfer our luggage to our room, once the room was available. We reached back hotel at 8.30 P.M. and to our surprise the luggage was still at the reception (not even in luggage room). They had not transferred to our room as they had claimed that the rooms are not available. We told him that we had booked our room almost 2 months back. He could not understand. The reception told us that they will shift us to similar property. However, we were not ready to shift. After 15 minutes they arranged a room for us.

The people were really bad and could not have imagined ever in my life. A worst experience ever. The breakfast choices were limited. Generally, the experience has been that the breakfast is unlimited; however, here the breakfast was limited. We can choose a breakfast item out of 2-3 options along with tea/coffee.

There are no activity centers for KIDS.

Overall, the quality of room was ok, but the people were pathetic and overpriced hotel. Not recommended to anyone.

Stayed in Pearl Plaza in February 2011 for 3 nights while in Delhi. I travel a lot and frequently stay in hostels and budget accommodation - but this hotel is one of the worst experiences so far.
We arrived in Delhi early at night (about 2 am) and hotel´s driver met us at the airport. That was a very nice beginning. Upon arrival at hotel we found staff sleeping on the floor at the so-called lobby. It hardly looked the same lobby that´s shown on their web-site. But that was still OK, no worries. The problem was the room.
Our room was spacious and looked well-furnished (LCD TV on the wall, nice bed-covers). But it was extremely dirty. It was definitely not cleaned for longer period of time - including after previous guest. There were rolls of dust on the floor, the toilet bowl was stained with somebody´s pee with yellow liquid inside, the shower dripped, there was dirty paper on the WC floor, trash-bin was still full of trash etc. We checked the bed-linen and these were very dirty and stained, there was hair on the sheets - the linen looked like it was used and left unwashed. We complained the hotel staff about the problems with the rooms and politely asked to clean the room or give us another one. They were sleepy and didn´t bother too much, promising to clean in the morning. We demanded the manager (I guess he was the manager - he was the one in reception) to check the room and after that one guy cleaned the room. We asked for new sheets as well and were firstly said there´re no clean ones in the hotel. Finally the found some new bed-clothing - but it didn´t look promising as well. Finally we slept all three nights fully dressed. And all this happened in the middle of the nights - we haven´t slept for more than 24 hours and were expecting nice rest before exploring the city.
After getting our room cleaned we planned to take a shower - but no hot water was provided. Staff said it was due to late hours - but there was never any drop of hot water during our stay - was only cold and ice-cold. So we just showered in cold water.
The room itself was very cold. I know that in February nights in Delhi are not warmest ones and we were prepared with warm underclothing and wool socks - but this was just too cold, like staying outside. I understand that there could not be heating in India - but there were no warm blankets as well. There were only two thin ones and we were said they don´t have additional ones to give us. They didn´t clean the room any more during our stay and we had to ask the reception even a roll of toilet paper.
The breakfast was served in our room - we had omelette, tea and toast for breakfast.
We liked the neighbourhood - it was crazy and noisy and smelly - but it was fun and very Indian. There´re small markets near the hotel were one could buy snacks and drinks. A money-changer was right opposite the hotel. There´s a short walk / even more short drive from the hotel to the railway station. Don´t ask the hotel to arrange a railway station drop-off for you - the price is absolutely unfair. We asked the staff if we could find a rickshaw at 5AM and were suggested to take a taxi as there could be shortage of rickshaws at that time. So we asked for a taxi - but received a hotel driver for horrific price. As we were really tired of arguing and were in a hurry to catch our train we used the service. Actually there were plenty of rickshaws on the street.

In general that was very bad hotel experience. We were really considering moving to another place - but we booked through HotelClub and the full fare was pre-paid. This was the first time ever I considered changing a hotel.

I would be satisfied if I paid 10-15 USD for night. We paid 42. And that was a real rip-off for the quality received - a dirty room without hot water. Totally overpriced.

Despite emails confirming both room booking & collection from the airport - the car & driver never turned up... having got a taxi the night manager then told us he had no room booking for us (despite showing him the confirmation email) & claimed never to have heard of the manager.

He then threw two females out into the street at 2:30 in the morning & told us to come back in the morning.

Utterly disgraceful behaviour. We will never, ever use this hotel again.
