The hotel was just like being home, I felt staff, front desk, room service could not do enough for me. I stayed in the Theme Rooms what a great idea, spacious, retro, clean, comfortable, just like being home. An absolute delight. Wont just be staying there for my next trip will be recommending to all.

I have feeling the trip is very happy because the Bawa International Hotel just like a home. I have finished my business deal with my clients as if I am at my office.

I was on a business trip and stayed at this hotel for three days. The Hotel is conveniently located near the domestic airport. They provide free Airport transfers. The room tariff is slightly higher as compared to other other cities. The rooms are good. The food is good but expensive. The morning buffet is good and has variety. The internet is though not complimentary - internet packs are steeply priced.

I stayed in this hotel, it was business trip we had a conference there in Mumbai. Hotel Bava is a good budget hotel. Very near to Domestic airport. It has got very good ambience, which is a very good thing, because, once you enter in to hotel, it will keep you in a very quite place away from the noise of the mumbai roads.
Once inside room it is very well decorated, bathroom has got bath tub which I enjoyed a lot. I had dinner and break fast, which were testy for me.
The reception staff were humble and quite helpful. We did not check out in time and mistakenly over stayed for more than 4 hours, when we requested they charged us only half the price which was good for us thanks to hotel manager and the hotel staff.

Happy experience with airport pick up, good reception, good comfortable rooms, and good food especially for a vegetarian. Non veg also was available. Honest staff. Experienced getting back lost/missed property. though so near airport, it is quite a quiet place for undisturbed sleep at nights. Overall a pleasant stay and tariff too very reasonable considering other hotels in the area. Found the location very convenient for business meetings in the city, as it is very centrally located.

Its an appropriate business hotel for a not so lavish and not so cheap traveler. Neat and tidy interiors. Good service. Best is the location which is near the Domestic Airport.
The round the clock room service is good and efficient. They have a nice bar and restaurant. All in all a comfortable hotel for business travelers with good services and a nice location.

I enjoyed throughly my stay there and the service had a personal touch.

We had booked this hotel before reading the reviews posted on trip advisor.After reading all the bad bad comments,we were highly scared before checking in the Bawa International.But there was nothing we could do at that time as we had already paid for 4 days B&B. And,besides,we thought that we were to stay there for one night only as we were to catch a flight to Goa the very next day.We were then to come back from Goa & then stay in this hotel for 3 days.We thought if the hotel turned out to be that bad,we will forget about the money paid & stay at any other hotel.
We landed at Mumbai airport & were delighted to see a young man holding a placard bearing my name.He immediately caught hold of our luggage & called the driver.The transfer service was personalized as we were taken to the hotel in Innova.It took only five minutes to reach the hotel.
I must say,the hotel is not that bad at all.The reception staff was quick & efficient.The bell boys did their job with smiles on their faces.They provided us a nice,clean room with all amenities.There was a small bar too.Bathroom was clean & hygienic with a nice bath-tub.Room service was prompt & the food they served was delicious.
We went to Goa & came back again to this hotel.This time they provided us another room which was equally good.
My wife surprised me by celebrating my birthday.She had ordered a cake & bouquet beforehand which they delivered at 12:00 a.m sharp.
Once we awoke late & missed our buffet breakfast.So we went to the restaurant at about 11:30 & had our meal.They were so nice that they didn't charge us a single penny saying we had missed our buffet so it was free.These are little things but they do matter a lot as a person remembers them for a long time.
All in all, I would say -go here with your eyes closed.

I had been to Mumbai for the CII Insurance Summit when I checked into this hotel. It is really very close to the Airport and therefore very well connected. The rooms are quite clean but what is not provided is a bath tub - wish there was one.

The food is reasonably good but quite a few notches expensive as compared to most other hotels. Service of the staff is quite good. All in all gives a friendly aura in an otherwise materialistic city.

Bawa international Hotel was very expensive for what it was! ALthough the presentation was lovely to the eye there were many flaws! there was mould around the bath tub! the shower was not great! However there was hot water constantly which was great! The food was not bad, however pricey! For one night was not bad, but would not stay for a week.

Came in late in evening, exhausted after long travel, I had made a web booking for one night through Expedia.com, which the hotel refused to honour, kept me waiting till for over two hours, and after endless calls up & down, finally gave a room (I think there must have been a cancellation), then here was some trouble over the discounted rate paid to Expedia... got to the room finally around 10 pm, I was leaving at 5 am next day. Reception staff are overworked and hassled with the constant stream of people, their strain shows in the service. Rooms were clean but very musty smell in the airconditioning, bathrooms are extremely old & badly maintained, ancient plumbing. Had dinner in the restaurant on ground floor - exorbitantly overpriced with medicre food. The dinner buffet had hardly anything worth eating, did not justify it's price. However airport drop early in the morning was quick & efficient, airport being just five minutes away. It is an old hotel, well past it's prime, trying to be modern, and the flaws show. Worthwhile to stay here only if you need to be near the airport & only if you have no other place to stay. And make sure you check ahead before coming, to make sure your web bookings are honoured!

Positives: Close to Airport, Free Airport Transfer, Decent Room Service
Negative: Rooms very old, smelly & dull. Pics & Ratings given at sites during booking were exaggerated.

Can be recommended for just a single over night stay only in between flights especially as at INR 4500 is not too costly for Mumbai.

Apart from good location near the airport, this hotel has nothing to bost about.

Dirty rooms with ghutka spits on the wall. Used linen on beds, it was very very bad. we changed 3 rooms, and each was worse than the other.

Food was good nad even the breakfast spread was nice, but how will you work if your night went off bad.

The biggest advantage is the proximity of the hotel to the airport !

The staff at the reception is warm, service is good.

Rooms are spacious but need renovation and can do with better hygenic care.

Food is good and variety is also good - infact there is a pastry shop available as well.

There is a complementary pick up and drop to the airport.

View from the room ( Mumbai traffic !!) is interesting. Accesability to major areas of Mumbai metropolis is rather good.

Evenings ( especially late evenings ) around the hotel are pretty eventful !

Can be recommended for a short stay while taking connecting flights etc...

We were able to get a good deal from Bawa. I was travelling on business and since my wife was also travelling with me, I thought Bawa was a good option.

We got a double room at a negotiated price and the biggest positive of Bawa is it's location as it is right next to the domestic airport. You can walk down to the hotel..!!!

The check in was smooth and professional. The rooms were well done up and surprisingly, the wall to wall carpets did not emit a stink and looked fresh.

Room service was excellent and quality of Indian food ordered was decent. However, the bathroom was a let down, the towels did not look fresh and the bathroom gave an old look with cracks on the walls. The taps are old and the rooms and bathrooms need an urgent refurbishment!!

The bar tiems were well stocked and we relished the salty snacks.

The breakfast was below average with limited choices and the quality of food was not good. For the price, there could be more fruits and some more items to make the breakfast look delicious...

The staff is well trained and is very professional.

If no other option exists, this could be a good place to park oneself.

Stayed for three nights in Nov 2010. Official trip. Rooms have a shabby appearance. Though all amenties are present, but the way the furnishings are done, does'nt give a good impression on first look. The furniture looks dated even though seems to be freshly painted. Menu and all are attractive, however the quality of food leaves a lot to be desired. Breakfast buffet is okay though most of the times, the containers are empty and u have to remind the waiters to fill them. And, they in an un-interested manner do the job.
The positive part is it is walking distance from the airport.

Was in Mumbai on buisness and stayed for two nights. Seems to be a bit dingy with dark corridor. Rooms are okay and the bathroom fittings a bit old. Bathroom can be made over.
The food was passable though the complimentary breakfast was okay. The dinner meals had too much oil and could have been prepared with less of it. Not an attractive affair.

We made this booking at short notice because our outgoing stay at the Royal Palms Hotel in Mumbai turned out to be such an inconvenient place to stay in and we decided to cancel our return stay.

We chose this hotel as the rate was similar and the booking could be done via an online service since we were not prepared to send credit card information to another shortlisted hotel by email. Unfortunately, the online reservation service of Bawa Hotel and the Checkout Desk at the hotel do not appear to communicate with each other, ending up with us paying again for a room that had already been paid for. The hotel reception neglected to inform us that the bill had already been charged to another card.

Instead when we asked about the bill they said it would "be billed (not already paid!!) to Company", which was totally incorrect since no Company was involded. It was only when we received an email from the online reservation service did we discover that the bill had been charge twice to two separate credit cards. The hotel have since been contacted and have said they will refund the duplicate payment.

Just something to note and be careful about if you read the rest of my review and still decide to use them.

How member sameer348 could say he had a great stay I do not know! Most other reviews don't have much good things to say about the hotel. The staff were nice, courteous and smiling. The room itself was comfortable enough. Not the standard of a comparable hotel in Europe at the same rate... but hey.. from what I seen when you compare what the same amount of money would get you in Europe all the Indian hotels are far, far inferior. Maybe the Taj or Oberoi etc. have an standard you would expect from a 5-star deluxe, but their price is way in excess of many similar that we have stayed at in Europe for the same standard.

In fact we stayed overnight at the 4 star Holiday Inn at Paris airport for only Rs. 1500 more than the Rs. 6000 we paid at the Bawa. And if price was an issue, one could stay at the 3-star Holiday Inn Express in Paris city itself for under Rs. 4800!!!! And certainly you would be sure that the hotel was clean and hygenic.

The Bawa International's bathroom is a room from hell. If I had a bathroom like that in my home I would be ashamed to allow guests to see it, leave alone charge them for the privilege of using it!!

The bathtub was so disgusting that I refused to take a shower in it, in case I caught something , or in case something crawled out from one of the various holes around the bathroom. The surrounding sealant around the bathtub and sink was dirty with mould that could not be cleaned. I decided that it was preferable to wait till I got home that evening to take a shower.

The tiles are horrible... dirty, old, cracked. The commode unremarkable... not something one would sit on out of choice. The flush was broken.. hanging off the wall and couldn't be used, so the smell eventually permeated into the bedroom.

There are more descriptions I could give, however, I doubt that you do not already get the picture with the little I have described. Breakfast was not fantastic as they didn't have a wide choice that most hotels in the same price range do, however, for some reason I had an upset stomach and decided only to eat a very small amount. However, they will do eggs to order if you ask for them, so while not fantastic, with a live cooking station etc., I wouldn't say it was horrible.

I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends simply because they would expect the same standard of hygiene and decor that my husband and I would, and this hotel is sorely lacking. I stayed last year at the Transit Hotel, which I think was cheaper, but had no problems with the cleanliness of their rooms, and I know the hotel has been renovated.

Service was so-so - front desk was helpful enough, but someone came to the room at 1:45 a.m. to stock the minibar! Suitable for a quick stay near the airport (literally around the corner from the domestic terminal), but this is not the best place for tourists wanting to see Mumbai.

Stayed on our way back from an international flight and enroute to a domestic flight the next day. There was a pick up from the international airport and the vehicle was good. As I entered the hotel the lady in the reception was pretty confused while I had booked online and had informed of 3 adults and the same was also mentioned on the e-reservation slip that I had the reception told me the room booking was only for 2 people. Later on she corrected . The room was just ok but the rest room was pathetic. There are no words to speak of hoe pathetic the toilets were.Old hotel which needs urgent renovations. We went down at the restaurant for dinner at 11.25 p.m at night and we were told that the restaurant was closed. There were only snacks and sandwiches available. The sandwiches that we ordered were not so great and the same was exhorbitantly priced. And the breakfast was also equally bad. Stay only if there are no other hotels available. The only good thing of the hotel is it's proxmity to the domestic hotel.

The hotel only survives on the fact that it is near the airport. The rates are also high, anywhere else this would be a 2 star hotel.

Service is another issue but by the time you reach service, you are already so mad because of the choice you made.

There are many hotels in nearby area, which are much better, might have to travel another 10 miles but it would be worth it.b

The only good thing about this hotel is that it's within walking distance from Mumbai's domestic airport. Other than that, there's absolutely nothing to recoomend. The service was sub-standard. When I asked for change into smaller bank notes, the cashier practically threw the money on the counter. The reception at checkin seemed confused and asked stupid questions.

The restaurant for breakfast was gloomy. The Wi-Fi card I paid for Internet use in my room didn't work. And the place was populated by unscrupulous taxi drivers who are always looking to take you for a ride. Oh, did I mention the filthy bathroom tiles and the cracked sink? This hotel should be avoided at all costs, unless you enjoy your bathroom walls coming to life in the middle of a no-hot-water shower.

Believe all of the other reviews. This hotel was terrible. My family and I stayed in one corner of the room the whole night. We were staying there for 1 night while in transit and I would've rather spent the night in the airport than in Bawa. When we first got to our room it looked like someone had already been in there but we were so tired that we didn't make too much of it. There was a candy wrapper on the end table and the bed sheets were messed up.
The bathroom was disgusting. The tub and tiles were moldy and it smelled so bad. The carpet was so gross that we didnt even take our shoes off. I can't get over how filthy this hotel was. All I can say is do not stay at BAWA International!!

The hotel is quite old and worn out, and I suppose It wasn't nice even when new: it seems that it was built and furnished by someone with my own skills in DIY (ie nil). Besides that, breakfast is below standard, and services are similar to the ones of a single star pension in continental Europe. The problem is that the price wasn' t low (200 EUR/300 USD with breakfast), but the service I received surely was.

To put this into context: I had to spend to spend 5 days in Mumbai for a trade fair. The fairground is close to both airports (domestic and international), so I tried to book in some of the international hotels in this area, but the rates were way beyond my own company limits (400 EUR/600 USD per day without breakfast). So my local business partner had to find an alternative, and this was the Bawa International.

We thought we'd stay here for one night whilst in transit, but I would not recommend this place for even the few hours we were there!!

The only good thing I would comment on is the efficiency of the airport transfers...but the airport is 2 minutes down the road, so we could've walked...

I stayed in the Bawa last week, September 2005. This hotel is a four star, I paid around 90$ a night. It is absolutely no value for the money:
1. Making reservation, getting confirmation, getting pick up service from the airport: difficult, took several emails, faxes and phone calls;
2. Front desk staff at check in not polite, not friendly.
3. There is a very noisy discotheque just below the lobby area. So if you check in after midnight prepare your self for non-four star scenes (nervous young men and women, running to and from toilets, smoking, speaking in their cell phones);
4. The room is spacy, but old, very old and worn down. Nothing works: mini safe door is closed (called the reception to fix it, nobody came), as a result I had to carry all my belongings with me wherever I went, I stayed at 6th floor, no water pressure on toilet flusher, almost no waterpressure on the shower. TV set: 65 channels, but in great disorder (guests are allowed to make their own selection and memorise it apparently). Minibar: locked, could not be unlocked until one day after my arrival, and the thing could not be closed (the door fell open);
5. View: see photo. Noisy cross road (although I had asked for room at the other side);
6. Location: terrible. Ride to city centre took 2 hours, even a ride to the airport (which is one block away) took 30 minutes. There is nothing near the hotel, no restaurant, no nothing. You feel like a prisoner in a cage;
7. Conclusion: avoid it, it once was perhaps a pleasant hotel (when new) in a pleasant surrounding, but now it is definitely a bad choice.
