My favourite place during two weeks of travel across India. Very close to the station, convenient for Golden Temple (one of the most beautiful sights on earth) and a car can be arranged to visit Wagah for the border closing. Splendid large rooms with comfortable beds, loads of space, clean and tidy bathrooms. Service could be a little better - we had to ask three times for one extra towel (two people per room, one towel in each); we called into the bar for drinks before dinner and it took FIVE staff 30 minutes to make and serve four drinks; excellent breakfast but it wasn't clear what had to be requested and what was self-service (toast, coffee etc). Nice rooftop pool, very helpful staff (especially the doorman who negotiated "locals prices" with the auto drivers on our behalf).

Spacious and comfortable rooms in the heart of Amritsar. About 10 minutes rickshaw ride from Golden Temple and markets. Breakfast buffet was out of this world - great selection of Indian delights, possibly the best curry I've ever tasted!

This is ideal for an overnight in Amritsar for visiting Golden Temple & Border Ceremony.
Short Auto ride from station. Spacious, comfortable room, really quiet at night considering busy road outside, and best airconditioning in India! Helpful staff, particularly security/door man who helped with rickshaws etc. Rooftop poll a bonus. Overall excellent. Highly recommended

Been there 2 nights in September 2011. Nice new hotel, a little far from Golden Temple, tuk-tuk is a must to go there. Tuk-tuk ride to Golden Temple is about 10 min. Rooms are new and good. Beds are comfy and bathroom is a nes one again.
They have a pool on the roof with 3 chairs only. Pool has a nice city view, but water cleanliness is limited.
Breakfast is nice.

Lovely hotel. Neat and clean. Decent breakfast. Centrally located if u're there for sight seeing. We were 8 of us, and we got rooms on the 2nd floor. There's nice open space between the rooms whch we used as our own living room :)
They have a great pool and a small gym on the terrace. Only complain is that they refused to serve anything on the terrace. If i go back to amritsar will definately stay here.
Just around the corner there's a restaurant called Crystal. Great food. Awesome lassi.

Nine of us spent a day & a night in Amritsar to visit Golden Temple, Wagah border, and Jalianwala Bagh. We reached the hotel late but the check-in happened in 2 mins! Rooms were spacious and well-appointed. The service was awesome, and the entire hotel seems to have been spit-polished... apparently it is just two years old.

Overall, a great experience. And would recommend it without a second thought.

Of my research I found Country inn & suites and instantly I decided to stay there.
Room was bit small in size but equipped with all required amenities, Food and varieties at morning buffet was lovely.
The best part of that hotel is their Hospitality.
Overall my experience was very good. After that stay i have stayed there one more time and will be keep on staying there during my all kind of trips be it business or family

Indian Hospitability is what makes hotels from this country to be obe of the best around the world. Amar(Girl at reception) was perfect example of making people feel at home & even pamper them to be really special guest. We reached hotel early by about 4 hours, Gulshan and her colleague at reception desk were kind enough to arrange both the rooms for us to check in early. They not even charged us for that. We were very happy with the rooms, their size and cleanliness. Only thing that i can say be wanted was towels they use at hotel, they badly need to changed to new, since they have outlived their life. Swimming pool at roof top is excellent, but needs some attendant & regular cleaning.
The location of hotel is about 1 km from Railway station, 2 km from Golden Temple and 700m from Ranjit Singh Panaroma (this should not be missed). Again Amar - the sweet girl had advised us for visiting this & i think it is realy good. Hotel is right in the middle of Queens road market, you step out of the hotel and can get rickshaws for travel very easily.
Not be missed is the food at hotel, we enjoyed dinner & breakfast at the hotel, i must say the food tastes fabulous and staff at the restaurant are really good.

We went to Amritsar to attend a wedding and stayed at country inn with extended family. I must say that the hotel rooms were quite nice and spacious. They have a 24 hour coffee shop which too is of great convenience. The only problem I found was that of parking as its situated on a very busy location. The rooms were quite tidy and well kept. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel looked new and clean, room was big, bathroom was modern.

I didn't feel it was that close to everything, so we usually used rickshaws. The problem was on the way back (multiple times), the drivers didn't know where the hotel was and had to stop, ask somebody and turn around - even though we had a map with the hotel's name and address written on it.

We've asked about a tour to Waggah, but the quote was much higher than suggested by (a recent) Lonely Planet, so we've arranged it independent from the hotel for about half the price.

But these were really minor problems, I can recommend this hotel.

Though the reviews on tripadvisor were very good for this hotel, I was still hesitant to book because I have stayed in this chain of hotels in the states where they tend to a little iffy at times. So I booked a few individual nights giving us the option to change hotels if necessary. I even had a back up hotel in mind that was farther from the center of the city than what we cared for.

What a pleasant surprise this hotel proved to be!. It ended being the best hotel that we stayed in while in India and far less expensive. The hotel picked us up from the airport as scheduled for a reasonable fee. The check in was swift and professional.

The room way exceeded our expectations. It was large. The bed comfy, not to hard not too soft. Goldilocks would have approved. Free wifi, a desk set up, a hot pot, mini bar two easy chairs, a well equipped bathroom with tub and shower were part and parcel of this welcoming room.

The "living area" had a huge picture window that looked out on a busier street with great opportunities for watching daily life unfold-what a treat in a north India town that is not touristy! We felt we were seeing the real India that is difficult to find in areas such as Agra. We took the opportunity to do a day of R&R in this great hotel. I sat at the window most of the day taking pictures of just that ....daily life, rejuvenating and heart warming.

The hotel was quiet even though our room fronted a more busy street. The floor in our room was wood not carpeting which is probably a good thing in any hotel. The other guests were respectful and quiet during our stay.

The breakfast that was included offered a good variety. The service was tops. My husband likes to try local fare. The staff helped him figure out how to put the combination together. Sometimes they would even prepare a fresher version for him so that it would be the very best Indian food that they could possibly offer. At least that was our take on it. They seemed proud of their food and were please that we enjoyed it so much.

The location was great. The hotel is situated in such a way that we could walk several blocks without crossing a street...a good thing in most cities in India. This allowed us to enjoy local stores, buy from moving street vendors, and get a real feel for Amritsar and its people.

The hotel drove us to the Golden Temple for a fee that we were happy to pay. It was too far to walk even for avid walkers. We went several times. The hotel dropped us off at the gate for the temple and told us how to call them for a pick up later in the day. It all worked out perfectly though we were at first unsure of the plan. They know what they are doing. (There is a park that surrounds the temple that has great walking. Don't miss it.)

Because we were usually out all day, we did room service every night. The young lady at the front desk who checked us in, also helped us when we had some communication problems with a room service order. We explained our situation. She quickly said, ' I will take care of this for you." She did just that-in an instant! We were stunned because we had stayed elsewhere in India where things just seemed so complicated to remedy. We felt well taken care of!

The hotel also arranged a car to take us to the Pakistan-India border closing ceremony. I was concerned about the possible traffic outside of the city and driving at dusk. No problem because there was virtually no traffic in the countryside, and we were easily back before dusk. It was well worth experiencing the ritual. We were pleased with the hotel arrangements.

We are independent travelers but like a little TLC from time to time, and this hotel delivered it. We would return to Amritsar and this hotel in a heart beat.

While in Amritsar, I visited the Wagah border, Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. The hotel arranged transportation for me to the Wagah border at a very reasonable price. The hotel is close to the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh, so I was able to visit the temple at sunset and sunrise, which are both spectacular. The restaurant served delicious food at a reasonble price.

We stayed at this place for one night 28th Dec 2010.
This is a clean and neat place. The hotel is new addition to Amritsar, I believe. This is an international chain. Our stay was quite comfortable. Huge bed, big room and big bathroom. One of the good points is that this hotel is very close to the railway station...just 1 km. (though the auto would charge somewhere around 50 Rs). You can hire a cab to go to Wagha border (it would be expensive from the hotel travel desk). We hired one from near to the railway station which charged us 950 Rs to wagha border + golden temple + Jalliawala bagh and back to hotel. (Travel desk would charge around 2000 Rs!)
The buffet breakfast was quite good. We also had a decent dinner at one of their restaurants (1st floor).
In all it was quite a good stay. Nice peaceful sleep. Friendly staff. Truly value for money!

When I started coming to Amritsar, Hotel Shiraz was available and I became a regular at Hotel Shiraz, which is almost across the road from this property. This time, after a dozen stays at Shiraz, (and the fact that I froze in the winter last year because of poor heating and bad ducting at Shiraz) I decided to try Country Inn & Suites, and am I glad I did. Service with a smile – yes, but going above and beyond the call of duty, is where I would place this hotel staff.

Incredibly nice and helpful, right from the reception to the house keeping. I don’t think I would go to any other hotel in Amritsar, unless, I find a better property, but I am almost willing to bet that no one will have this kind of service. Room size is good. Beds are very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of pillows as well. They have covered minor details and have done justice to the flag.

The only problem I had was with their F&B, including room service. Food is not consistent with the service. For one, quality in terms of taste and quality of ingredients is not high. Trays were not cleared, till I asked the next day when I found that the leftover was starting to give a bad smell. Logically, would you not keep a record of what goes into a guest’s room, and has to be brought back. Yes, other hotels do more justice to their breakfast. If Country Inn & Suites is watching their P&L account, they need to watch their reputation barometer as well.

If I don’t think of the food / F&B, the stay was super. I definitely am going to be a regular here. Before I forget - beautiful property.

We booked the Country Inn on the back of good reviews in Tripadvisor and even then it exceeded our expectations. The reception staff were efficient and friendly, as were the restaurant staff. The hotel is very comfortable without being ostentatious, clean, the beds are on the firm side (but that's perfect for me), it's in a quiet area but within a 5-minute autorickshaw ride from the Golden Temple and other sites. We arrived late, but we had no problem ordering room service and the quality of the food was superb. The hotel only came up slightly short with the breakfast menu, but that was only because we didn't really feel like eating Indian food that morning (if we had, we would've been amply catered for). A very pleasant experience all round that really enhanced our stay in the city of the wonderful Golden Temple.

We booked this hotel on the Radisson website, influenced by the reviews at tripadvisor. We stayed for a day and a half at this place and we are very happy.

Great value for money (3310 incl tax) for a superior double room with breakfast. Good spacious room, clean, well done decor and toilet, very helpful and polite staff and a great location as the golden temple, the shopping areas and the famous eateries of Amritsar are well within 2 k.m. radius.

Excellent hotel and I would recommend it highly to everyone. One advice though, please book through the website as you would get better offer on prices, otherwise their rack rate is quite high.

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night, even though I had not pre-booked the room it was more expensive than booking on online. The room was lovely, clean and very local to all the malls. My AC was not working and after waiting for 2 people to come and check it I was moved rooms. The hotel food was deilicious and highly recommended and the beds were lovely and I had the best sleep before my return to to the UK. The only downside was that the manager was a bit slow in dealing with me checking out, also they added things to my minibar which I was not happy about and over charged me, and he was still making me pay for this, which I did not and only paid for what I did use.

ADVICE - Always check your bills they will try and add on extras.

The service was great. They have free pick up from the airport which was great since there were so many of us. They had a vehicle large enough to accommodate all 7 of us and our luggage. They brought a few chocolates to our room every night. And there was always someone checking to make sure our stay was going well. Breakfast buffet is included with the stay and it was a great variety, presentation and taste. Omelet from the omelet bar was one of the best ever!

We stayed at the Country Inn for 3 nights celebrating my daughter's first birthday. We wanted to take her to the Golden Temple. We had booked a suite and 3 rooms, and were a party of 9 adults and 2 children.

We booked directly with the hotel via a contact in Amritsar. All discussions were via email, they had initially quoted us a lower rate for regular rooms, but increased during final confirmation. HOwever, after we discussed the matter they agreed to honor the lower rate.

The hotel is on Queen's road, about 10 minutes from the Golden Temple, very conveniently located. Check in was very comfortable, rooms are very spacious and well furnished.

Room Service menu was fantastic with plenty of variety. Their pastas and pizzas are very good, the Indian food was also quite tasty.

Breakfast was nice, with great service, they would serve hot puris / parantas on our table etc. The menu would also change everyday which is quite nice.

We did have some problems with our suite, the a/c was not cooling well, we did complain and a technician came over to fix it, but the problem wasn't resolved. I had to change the desire temp to 10 deg to keep the room at 21 deg !!

The hotel has free internet, but it was quite slow.

I would recommend this hotel for stay in Amritsar.

I spent two nights at the Country Inn and Suites, on what was essentially a shopping trip with friends. The hotel is a business hotel, I wouldn't describe it as luxurious, but it had all the amenities we could need, and was extremely clean as well. We stayed in the double guest room, which is very spacious and comfortable.
The hotel is located a 10 minute drive away from the Golden Temple, and the main market of Amritsar. I would reccomend eating out during the trip however, as Amritsar is famous for cheap, delicious food, and the hotel food, though not pricey, is nothing to write home about.
Service was thoughtful, we took suggestions from the reception for where to eat, where to shop etc, and were never disappointed. They also went out of there way to help us find a tuk-tuk to the Golden Temple at 3 in the morning, when we wanted to go for the first prayer service.
The swimming pool and gym are tiny, the gym does seem well-equipped, but I cannot imagine an adult wanting to use the pool.
All in all, this is not a hotel where you want to hang out, but if you have a lot of activities planned, it is a perfect place to come back and sleep. Also, the high standards of cleanliness and comfort make it excellent value for money.

Very well maintained hotel, and excellently located (close to Golden Temple, and the shopping areas). Staff was very responsive, and the food was GREAT!
My only complaint - gym was too small and very very basic. I guess one is not expected to be working out while in Amritsar - one should only eat :)!!

We stayed here for 2 nights, a family of four with 2 adults and 2 kids. Room was comfortable although heated water in shower was lacking. We had the option of extra rollaway bed but felt it would cramp up the room and we managed with existing large bed. Restaurant is very good and convenient with good service and quality food, parathas at breakfast are excellent. Responsive front desk employees helped and we even took their airport transfer service and visit to Wagah border taxi. Plus excellent location to visit Golden Temple and Jallianwalabagh memorial. Overall pleasant stay and certainly recommend the place.

I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the rooms were. I honestly was not expecting much from this hotel. Amritsar is limited on luxury hotels, so I booked this one based on "getting through one night".

From the outside it's not the best, and the reception is standard, however the rooms were of better standard then it's exterior. I found it overpriced for what you get. Restaurant was of good standard, however the waiting staff were overly helpful and taking plates away before I was done, this happened for both the dinner and breakfast.

The Golden Temple and Wagah Border was worth the visit to Amritsar. Don't spend longer then a night . Aim to get to Wagah Border for 4pm, takes 45mins to reach. From 4pm you queue and men and women are separated, so if it's just you and your patner be prepared to separate and sit in crowds on your own for a couple of hours. But it is worth it. I think they have an arrangement for tourists but we weren't aware of it beforehand so we were left to queue and sit on our own. Indian are very patriotic and know how to have a good time!

oh and the hotel needs to replenish their bath towels.

The welcome was truly Punjabi style, gregarious and warm. As I entered the room, for a second mistook it for a 4-5 star property. Well appointed large room with a good view. Thou absolutely on the road, noise was well filtered. Airconditioning was good, specially was not cut off at night, a common grouse in all mid range hotels.
Room service was prompt and courteous with very good tasting food.
Breakfast was well laid with an excellent variety.
Surpirsingly, along with an gym, there's an lovely pool on the terrace.

Stayed here for one night in Feb 2011. Hotel is 10 minutes from the train station, and 10 minutes (with traffic) from the Golden Temple. It is approx 45-60 mins from Wagah Border.

The room is very good and surpassed our expectations because it wasn't too expensive.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to future travellers.

Stayed here for 2 nights, booked directly on the website.
This hotel is located on a busy road in a busy area of Amritsar that is very close for shopping, sight seeing and eating out. The railway station is only 5 mins away and the airport 45mins by car. Just like any other Country Inn it has maintained its standard and service style. The hotel has free wi fi, roof top seasonal swimming pool, restaurant, gym etc. The rooms are very clean and moden, with all the amenities inc tea/coffee maker.
The staff is very busy but courteous and polite. The hotel is located conveniently close to everywhere you would need to go to in Amritsar.
Places of interest: Golden Temple 15mins drive
Wagha border 45mins drive (Indo/Pak border)
Hall Bazaar 10mins drive (Main bazaar of Amritsar)
Lawrence Road 05mins drive (Pizza hut and shopping etc)
I would definitely reccomment this hotel and go back.

A friend and I stayed in a double with twin beds for two nights. The room was very large, clean, nicely decorated and the bedding was extremely comfortable; also, we heard very little noise from the busy street. The internet was free as was a full buffet breakfast. Amritsar's parantha is not to be missed, but the other southern Indian fare wasn't the best. Amritsar is a small city, so the location was not an issue. If I were return to Amritsar, I would definitely stay here again.

We booked a package with sightseeing and dinner at this hotel and thought it was a great value for money.

The hotel has a good location, with plenty of small shops around. Our room was a positive surprise - it was large and the furniture was comfortable and modern. The room was very clean, but the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner.

Both the hotel's restaurant and café were good, but I felt that the buffet breakfast and dinner could have been a bit better (there was not so much to choose from). Some of the bevarages were very pricey.

Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful, but many of them were slow and inefficient, and some had problems understanding English (including the staff at the front desk and at the restaurant). It took us almost half an hour to check out, despite (or maybe because of) three to four people handling our bill.

Overall, I did like this hotel a lot and I would definitely stay there again.

After reading the reviews at trip advisor we decided to stay at Country Inn during our trip to Amritsar. We decided to take their Three Wishes package and don't regret that decision at all.

The hotel had arranged a pick up for us from Railway station, it was short 2 min drive but comfortable as the driver was very warm and helpful. We chose to have the same driver for our complete trip.

The front desk staff was very friendly and courteous. They were very helpful in suggesting places where we should go and explore, arranging cabs for local usage. Calls to front desk were responded very promptly.

Rooms were spacious, clean and specially the wash rooms were very clean and the Nice sized jacuzzi was the attraction of the room. I was not too impressed with the Room service staff of the hotel may be because the experience with staff at front desk, restaurant had raised my expectations.

The hotel is centrally located and is not far from Golden temple, Jalianwala bagh, Main Bazaar or the Shopping Mall.

The restaurant has a good menu, buffet spread for b'fast and dinner was decent and the staff is wonderful too. The only thing which I believe is missing in the hotel is a Local Specialty Restaurant.

Cab charges from the hotel are on bit higher side, call the Radio Taxi instead specially if U want to visit only 1 or 2 location.

Overall a Wonderful Hotel which I would love to stay in again.

I was advised by friends to stay here while in Amritsar and I wasn't disapointed.

The guys who were working at the Front Desk were very nice, helpful and would help to arrange anything, would give good tourist advice; Wagah Border, Golden Temple, shopping. I have to say the women working on the Front Desk during the morning and afternoon were aloof and distant and rather cold.

The room was very spacious, bathroom really good and great water pressure in the shower. Very clean too.

The breakfast buffet was great and a good start to the day.

Free wi-fi was great! There isn't a computer to use for internet access so you'll have to use your own lap top.

The roof top pool is really nice and a great escape from the hustle and bustle on the streets below.

The only problem that we experience was that the Front Desk would only exchange US dollars into Rupees. Well, not everyone is American and some travel with Euro's or Canadian dollars (some days worth more than US dollars these days).

Taxi's are quite rare on the streets for some reason. So you either have to use the hotel car which can be expensive. You can use the autorickshaws as well, and the security guys will help you flag one down and translate where you want to go.

Go to the Golden Temple early in the morning before the crowds get there, the streets will be packed if you go any time after 11am.

this hotel is pretty average for a 4* hotel
clean rooms, ok service, nice lobby area, some choice for food, the bathrooms were functional but nothing more
its in a fairly good location 10 mins from the golden temple and the centre of amritsar
the only downside was that the hotel had been booked for the night before a wedding when we stayed
they had booked the roof of the hotel for the day (where the swimming pool, 1 restaurant and roof top views of the golden temple were) and also took over the other bar area leaving us few options for food and drinks - if that wasnt the case then the social areas would have been nice
the wedding guests were also very drunk and very noisy until very late at night (5am)

On reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, I chose this hotel for my 2 night stay in Amritsar. Located very near to Railway Station and also not too far from Golden Temple, I found it to be an ideal one as per our needs. I booked superior room since all other rooms were full. The rooms was spacious enough and very clean. We ordered lunch and dinner in the hotel itself and the food quality was superb. The staff was courteous as well. Room service was bit lethargic, on first day there was no hot water in bathroom and it took lots of calls and 4 hours for them to fix it. Other than that it was good. Our room was on the main road side, so during afternoon there was lot of traffic sound, which subsided with the passing of day

For the price that I paid, it represented excellent value for money. Room was sufficiently spacious and well appointed, without additional furniture except for the writing table. And this is one of the very few hotels that I've stayed with a well-stocked mini bar. But then again, the room service was quite excellent and I did not need to venture into the mini bar. Buffet breakfast was average, but salami (yay!) and sugar doughnut (yay!) made up for it.

The bathroom was well equipped, and I was extremely happy with the over-sized shower head with good water pressure (as compared to the pathetic drips of my previous night's stay in another hotel). Though I do agree with one of the reviewers' comment about the awkward positioning of the toilet roll.

The staffs' service deserves a mention here. When I first checked in, the aircond was making an unbearable hissing sound. I complained to the bellboy and asked if I can have a different room, unfortunately the hotel was full that night. However, within 10min the technicians came and fixed the problem.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the city, for business or pleasure.

This hotel is located on a very busy street of Amritsar but it was quiet and calm inside and only about 5 minutes via rickshaw from the train station. Room was fine and well appointed, with a nice flat screen tv. The only weird note was sitting on the john and needing to be a contortionist to reach the tp. Reception was okay although asking for a receipt for the night or for taxi service seemed beyond their comprehension. Food in the restaurant was satisfactory, although all I had was fried rice one evening and the breakfast buffet in the morning, which was very Indian, with a nod to museli.

From our two night stay here:
This was one of the best rooms we stayed in during our 3 weeks in India. It was large and spotless, the bathroom was also a good size and had a powerful shower. The bed was comfortable (firm).

The included wi-fi is a joke though. After several tries, their IT man advised that since we were on the 4th floor, wi-fi wouldn't work. Well then don't advertise as having a wi-fi enabled hotel.

Have to mention one oddity: the rooms toilet paper dispenser is locked. Have they had a rash of guests stealing the two rolls of TP per room?

Nice big rooms, which are modern and staff is welcoming and warm. I was travelling with my 2 year old and had requests like special things to be cooked without services etc.and hotel was very accommodating .The only let down was the time taken in the restaurant and the room when it came to service time.

The plus point of the hotel is its location, Its centrally located, near to railway station, near to the golden temple and the inner as well as outer city. However, located about 15-20 Km away from the airport. But once you are in the city its a nice place for a stay.
Its a nice Hotel Though not very huge but still stylish n spacious enough to be called grand,
It has restaurant which offers quite an extensive menu, however, some dishes were worthy of giving a try n others i would miss.
The pool is a terrace pool, only 5 ft deep, but the view of the entire city can b enjoyed from there .
The Staff here is quite an amiable one & ready to serve, however, the serving staff is not very educated so you may end up conveying your needs in local language. But the same is not applicable on the senior level staff.
There's a reading area which is not very big but still worthy enough to distract you from the rush.

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our whistle-stop tour of Western India. the hotel is in a decent location with everything worth seeing a short tuk tuk ride away. The rooms were spacious and clean and the bathroom was of very high standard, with a large walk in shower cubicle fitted with a monsoon shower head. Just the thing you need after the hustle and bustle of an Indian city. The food here was good, both at breakfast and for the evening meal, and the room service was delivered promptly. There is a small infinity type pool on the roof. When checking out we were relived to say that we were given a small bag of clothing before leaving. We'd left a couple of items in the wardrobe and the housekeeping staff brought them down to us before we had the chance to leave. Top marks for that. This was a very nice couple of days in a pleasant city and if staying in Amritsar I'd have no hesitation in booking Country Inns and Suites again.

The hotel has opened about 8 months back and is a 5 minute drive from the railway station. It is not a sprawling property with gardens but a building.

We checked in at about 2.00 PM and were welcomed with juices and escorted to our rooms within a few minutes. The lobby though small is pleasant with and tastefullly done with a coffee shop is adjoint.

My first reaction to the rooms were- wow its a large room (we had booked the standard room). There is plently of space for an extra bed/travel cot. Pluses are a large comfortable bed, a plasma TV and the standard amenities like coffee maker, work desk etc.

The bathroom is of decent size with a shower cubicle, no bath (tub). They provide shampoo/lotion and you can request for a tooth kit. If you are staying for more than 2 days I recommend you get your own toiletries though.

There is an all day resteraunt where they serve breakfast/meals and an Italian one too. The breakfast had sufficient options. I liked the Indian fare better. There is no gym yet but they do have a small pool on the roof. If you have small children you will have to keep a check as there is no open area to play around. The staff was very helpful and polite. The hotel car worked well to go to the Golden temple.

All in all I really liked the hotel and would stay here again. Value for money too. Just keep in mind though it is a four star property, it is in Amritsar and don't compare to counterparts in larger cities.

The pool on the roof top wasn't heated, so it was too cold to use and hadn't been cleaned for a day or two. The spa also wasn't open.

I had hoped that the staff would have some local knowledge but weren't really able to help us when we asked about visiting the Golden temple.

The room was nice and clean, with good facilities so no complaints there. We just didn't get what we paid for.

The hotel was opened recently and still has the new hotel feel about it. I was travelling with my wife and 2 young daughters. Took the reception staff more than 15 minutes to check us in which was not great as the kids got very bored.

The porter took our bags to our room promptly and I was astonished to find the room had a damp patch and flaking paint on the wall which divides the bathroom from the bedroom. When travelling with young children I always carry out a quick risk assessment and within a minute I found the full front windows could easily be opened and it was a good 20metre plus drop to the ground. I phoned the reception and explained that as there was no balcony the opening windows were a health and safety flaw and requested they be locked. The receptionist explained they could not lock them but agreed to change our room on account of this problem and the damp patch.

So off we went to the next bedroom which also had a similar damp patch in the same area. The room did not smell of damp and the window openers had been removed so the windows could not be opened. This was fine so I accepted this room.

We visited Sri Harmandir Sahib in the evening and then eat at the Brothers Dhaba which is not too far from the hotel.

On coming back to the hotel we ordered their fruit/ice cream special and it was excellent. They top it with real cream which tastes superb.

The beds were very comfortable and the AC functioned well. The beds were so comfortable that the kids were still asleep at 9am which is unusual.

The buffet breakfast was also very tasty and the staff very helpful. They could do with some more variety similar to the Radisson buffet breakfasts in India.

There is a small pool on the roof terrace. The lift does not go right to the top so you have to use the stairs to reach this area. Again there were some safety issues on the roof terrace such as balustrades which had gaping holes so your kids can fall through and a very dodgy diwali lighting setup which could easily be pulled by children to expose live wires.

The pool was not clean as there was some problem with it. The view from the roof terrace area is superb and it is well worth going up.

If Mr Sandhu who owns this hotel could sort out the damp patches and the health and safety concerns then this hotel would be my first choice in Amritsar.

Stay at Country Inn & Suites, Amritsar made us decide to avoid staying in other branches of this hotel in future. Park at Vizag and Taj at Aurangabad are still the best memories of our holidays as far as hotel packages in India go.
Reception staff were ill-mannered, least bothered and disorganised. We found house-keeping, attendants and even gate-keepers better than the reception.
Our bed-sheeets were untidy and had a used-look when we checked in. We had to ask for a change.
Bathroom shower was not working and we had to get it repaired.
Buffet breakfast had a very limited menu and that too of not very good quality.
We requested for late check-out by one-hour and reception staff bluntly refused in military style.
When we handed over the key for check-out, receptionist called out a staff and asked him to check the items in the room, as if. She didn’t seem to have heard the words discreet and subtle. So much for 4-star hospitality. We felt like staying in a road-side hotel.
After experiencing all this, we could understand why they could not accommodate our request for complimentary pick-up/drop. For them, we were not guests, as their motto claims, but just clients who had made the full payment in advance.
Wish we had stayed in another hotel. Tripadvisor hotel rating which led us to wonderful Mewar Haveli in Udaipur, misled us this time as it was ranked No.-2.
Expedia guys watch out, coz your efficient, prompt and polite service could well be marred by association with such hotels. I hope though that Amritsar is only an exception, but am in no mood to experiment. Wouldn’t matter to them if this is the group culture or working style.

The worst hotel we have stayed in our life time. The property is good but the service .....Horrible.
We have selected this hotel after reading reviews. It was the best hotel but the moment we booked for the package we realised that we are wrong. We were interested in "Be our guest package" but they were interested in ' Three wishes package" . Atlast booked through online for Be our guest package. We were plannijg for 3 days and reduced the stay to one day beacause of the poor response from the sales team.T he package has some thing. Pick up from railway station.-They arranged.
Dinnwr fixed menu( No beverages included . Can you imagine you even the lime juice is not included in that package). The behaviour of the restaurent staff was not at all acceptable and I ased him can I order for some plain rice because most of the things were not included in the dinner menu.
Complimentary breakfast - Very limited choice and it was not at all good. The butter they servd was really bad with foul smell. By that time we realised that do not expect more.
Next day we did our check out at 4 PM and came at 7 PM . Though they know that we are going they never asked when we need our cab for railway station drop(It was also included in the package). They offered in choice of Piza ( I have to talk to the front office and the cafeteria person more than 5 times then only they gave that). If you fail to ask don't think that they will remember you.
For all those inclusions in the package you have to call thrice minimum... otherwise .. nothing will happen.
Sfety issues.- There are several problems.A big glass door near to the workstation of your room. If you pen you will fall into the ground.I don't understand the purpose of that glass.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights early in March 2011 and had a room on the 5th floor. The 6th floor is a roof top BBQ area.
We initially found this hotel excellent - good clean modern rooms with excellent staff and food. However, on our last night we returned to the hotel at 10pm to find that the roof top BBQ area had been let out to a private party.
The extraordinary loud sound of the music and 100 plus people dancing on our ceiling was unbearable and made sleep. resting or even remaining in the room impossible. It sounded as if our ceiling was going to cave in on us. This noise was actually reverberating throughout the hotel.
The hotel manager agreed that the situation was totally unacceptable and that this was no way to treat guests but, as the function had already been booked, he could do nothing about it. He eventually agreed to stop the music at 12.30am and provide us with another room to sleep in.
We did move to a room on the 3rd floor but I could still hear the noise of the party and the staff clearing up afterwards until well into the early
hours of the morning. We had to be up at 6am to catch our flight so the situation was totally unacceptable. What is particularly annoying is that we were allocated the room on the 5th floor in the full knowledge that this situation would arise. It makes a mockery of the hotel's slogan "Be our Guest" !!!! No thank you - never again.
On my return home I did send a complaint by E Mail. I initially did not receive a reply but, after a reminder, was merely sent a very short apologetic E Mail. This further shows what regard they have for their guests.
My advice is if you want a hotel to sleep in avoid this hotel at all costs.

We stayed in this hotle in July 2010.Beautiful clean hotel good location.\the only thing that lets it down is the customer service skilss that just do not exist. We were still eating our meal when the plates were taken away no apology nothing. We told the waiter that we had a flight to get and needed something quick to eat he told us it would take 15 minutes for a pizza 45 minutes later we were still waiting getting late for our flight only to be told the pizza would be another 30m or so.No opology again. we had constant knocking on our door a member of staff entered our room at 11pm for no reason when we complained we were told the manager would look into this the next morning nobody knew anything about it. \the staff really let the hotel down.Even a sorry would help. i would not stay here again with nothing to eat at Amritsar airport and not getting any food at the hotel we were quite angry with the hotel.I refused to pay my full bill wehich they said they would adjust but they even got that wrong. To sum this hotel up i would say for cleansiness go there but for food and service try elsewhere.
\the city of Amritsar is very dirty Jalander Phagwar look clean to Amritsar.Dont stay more than 1 night as there is no where to shop and besides the Temple which is amazing there is little else to do.The border change is a waste of time. Take your own food to the airport.
